Coco is back at the El Capitan Theatre, and I was so excited to see it again on the big screen! Coco is one of my favorite Pixar films and holds such a special place in my heart. My daughter was only 10 when this film came out. It’s crazy how quickly the years have flown by! I was actually lucky enough to visit Pixar and learn about the making of the film when it first came out in 2017! 🩷

Guests who see Coco at the El Capitan will be treated to a fun experience! Before each screening, a Fiesta of Lights featuring music from the movie is shown plus the @mariachidivas and Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles perform live on stage.

This is a limited engagement Oct 2-8!

Check my site for ticket info or visit @elcapitanthtre .

So… I was recently told there’s a 75% chance I have thyroid cancer. I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow and my total thyroidectomy is scheduled for October. Surgery scares me! Cancer scares me! I’ve already had a complete hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. 😭😭

It’s so weird because I’ve been afraid to share health stuff. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t want to burden people, or I don’t want people thinking, Oh, she’s sick again. Maybe part of me doesn’t want to talk about it because then it makes it real.

Some days I want to talk about it. Other days I really don’t. I want support, but I don’t expect it or don’t need it. And then when someone does reach out, it almost makes me sad or happy? because it reminds me that people really do care about me.

My husband bought me a plant the other day and I started crying. I think I was just overwhelmed by everything.

Some days I feel sorry for myself. Other days I’m like, Okay, I’ve got this. It really is such an emotional rollercoaster.

But I do know one thing: I want to live a long life.

My mom passed away at 55. She didn’t get to live long happy years, see me get married or meet her granddaughter. I want to be around for a LONG time. I want to be there for my daughter and I want to be here for all the things life still has in store for me!

And I try to remind women to take care of themselves both mentally and physically. Get the checkups. Ask the questions. Advocate for yourself. Don’t ignore something that doesn’t feel right. Men should absolutely take care of their health too, but I’ve found that women’s health can sometimes get pushed to the side. We’re told things are ā€œnormal,ā€ that it’s just hormones, stress, or even that it’s all in our heads.

So I’m putting this out into the universe: I’m going to get through whatever this is, live a long and happy life, and take some time to figure out what I want to do with the rest of it!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped my daughter off at Halloween Horror Nights or even gone with her! Now that she’s off at college, I decided it was time for an EMPTY NESTERS’ MOM NIGHT OUT!

Why should the kids have all the fun?! Thanks to @officialuniversalhorror for hosting @sassymamainla for hosting us!

A few tips if you’re planning a girls’ night at HHN:

1ļøāƒ£ MATCHING SHIRTS!
Ours said ā€œMomstersā€ so fitting! We even got comments on them. Fun, cute and we looked like a team!

2ļøāƒ£ COMFY SHOES!
Seriously. You’re going to WALK! We did about six hours of walking. Consider it your workout!

3ļøāƒ£ GET EXPRESS!
Yes, it costs more, but being able to skip those long lines is SO worth it. We got through all the mazes we wanted, hit the scare zones, ate, and even went on a ride.

4ļøāƒ£ SPLIT THE FOOD!
You already spent money on tickets, so go halfies! Try more of the themed food instead of filling up on one thing. We loved the deconstructed tacos, although I wish there had been more.

5ļøāƒ£ GO EARLIER IN THE SEASON!
I’d pick a Wed, Thurs or Sunday if you can. Fri and Sat nights often sell out! And if you don’t have Express, head straight to the Lower Lot and hit Sinners first. It was one of my top two! My daughter went on Halloween one year and it was surprisingly not busy!

6ļøāƒ£ PORTABLE CHARGER!
Pictures + videos + the HHN app = your battery will disappear.

7ļøāƒ£ DON’T SKIP THE SCARE ZONES!
Slow down, take pictures and enjoy everything happening around you.

8ļøāƒ£ MOST IMPORTANT… HAVE FUN!
Scream, laugh, be silly and embrace your inner kid. You’re never too old for Halloween Horror Nights!

Grab your bestie and get your tickets now!

Moms deserve a night out too!

Mom’s Night Out at Universal HHN Hollywood! @horrornights

Stay tuned for our 3-part series with @sassymamainla:

1ļøāƒ£ How moms can prepare for a night at HHN

2ļøāƒ£ Our ratings of the mazes + the Tram

3ļøāƒ£ Our attempt at a food review of the night

We were definitely beat by the end, but honestly, it was pretty satisfying seeing all the young kids sitting around looking way more tired than we did!

Ha! We still got it!

I had such a fun time at the opening reception at Forest Lawn Museum! I got to experience the new gallery, learn more about the relationship between Walt Disney and Hubert Eaton, enjoy some good food, take in the beautiful views, and even meet a woman dressed as the Haunted Mansion’s famous tightrope walker! Plus, this was the perfect mom’s night out with @sassymamainla

And of course, seeing an original 1964 It’s a Small World Audio-Animatronic figure was a huge highlight for me. It’s been my favorite ride since childhood, so seeing a piece of its history in person was pretty special.

I’ve been to this museum many times over the years and still think of it as one of LA’s hidden gems. If you haven’t discovered it yet, this exhibit is a great reason to go! It is located inside the cemetery!

California Visionaries is on view through February 7, 2027.

Join me in wishing my girl a VERY HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY! šŸŽ‰šŸ„³ I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday!

Watching you grow into the person you are today has been one of the greatest joys of my life. ā¤ļø You are brave, smart, talented, beautiful, strong, and just an all-around amazing young woman. Dad and I couldn’t be prouder of the person you have become.

We miss you and wish we could spend the day with you!

A little trip down memory lane…

Our very first family photo together! I was induced on Tuesday evening and wound up going in for an ER C-section on Friday!

Our most recent family photo taken in July at LACMA.

From her 1st birthday party. That was also the day she discovered her love for chocolate cake!

Me moving her back for her sophomore year of college.

Happy 19th! Here’s to the best year yet!

I had to end the summer with a mom’s night out at Barnsdall Wine Night! Their last night of the summer series was SOLD OUT, and it was such a fun atmosphere! The lawn was packed! The DJ played a great mix of music, and the wine was good plus we watched the prettiest sunset.

We did a flight featuring wines from Italy, France, Portugal and Spain. My favorite of the four was the Milenrama Tempranillo Rioja from Spain. It’s fruity and fresh with notes of red and dark berries. I also love that Milenrama is led by female winemaker Ruth de Andres!

The best part was honestly just sitting on a blanket, talking and actually enjoying the moment without everyone staring at their phones. Sometimes you just need a few hours like that!

Barnsdall Wine Night is an annual fundraising series, and 100% of the proceeds support programming at Barnsdall Art Park.

If you haven’t been, definitely put it on your list for next summer! Bring a blanket, some friends and your favorite snacks, grab some wine and enjoy a few hours under the stars.

Almond update šŸ‘€ still handsome as can be!! We have two weeks before he’s medically clear for transport. Still hoping we can team up with @swatt_transport to get him on a plane. We made the decision to just have our medical foster pull him and bring him home yesterday. They wanted an additional 1k. He’s on antibiotics and needs a bandage change every three days. Our California team @thatsitla and @manypawsalwoman is taking the best care of this sweet baby boy!

When he arrives in Florida we asked the Mali Queen @trendconcierge to help us vet his adopters to find him the perfect home. šŸ™šŸ½ by @thatsitla

A fun night out with a friend means grabbing a glass of wine, taking some pictures, catching up, and enjoying all the beautiful architecture and old-Hollywood charm of the Pantages before the show.

We saw Water for Elephants, and honestly, I didn’t know much about the story going in, but I’m really enjoying it!

The story is about Jacob Jankowski, an older man whose memories take him back to when he was young and working with a traveling circus. He meets Marlena, falls in love, and finds a family and a place to belong after losing his own.

I really love how they created the circus on stage. The puppetry is so cool, the acrobatics are amazing, the dancing is upbeat, and the songs are fun too! šŸŽŖ

Helen Krushinski as Marlena is one of my favorites. She has such a pretty voice and the song Easy is really beautiful and moving. And the aerial silk performance with Yves Artieres is WOW! His acrobatics throughout the show are so good and definitely one of the highlights for me.

I also really like the songs Wild and You’ve Got Nothing.

If you’re bringing kids: Just a heads-up that there are some dark themes, including a scene where a character shows a knife and references to animal abuse involving Rosie the elephant. Definitely something to consider for younger kids.

Have you read the book or seen the movie? You definitely don’t need to have done either to enjoy the musical!

Catch Water for Elephants before it leaves town . it’s playing at the Pantages through September 27, 2026!

Thank you @i_am_tia!!!!!

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens September 22 and there is SO much to see.

With more than 30 galleries and 100,000 square feet of gallery space, you’ll find everything from Norman Rockwell and Frida Kahlo to Jack Kirby, Winsor McCay, Banksy and, of course, a special Star Wars exhibition.

But honestly, the architecture alone is stunning and the new public gardens and park are so inviting, you could easily spend the entire day here.

There are also two film theaters with all-day programming, a free research library open to everyone, viewpoints to take in the city, a café and the new Skywalker Grill.

And it’s pretty amazing to think this was once a parking lot in Exposition Park. Now it’s a whole new place to explore.

* The museum celebrates its South LA Neighbors with Free Admission for 90037 Residents! Look for the LM37 pass!

* Community Members Will Also Be Invited to a Special Preview Day on September 13!

* Families! kids 0–12 are free, and students 13–17 get in free with a student ID.

A huge thank you to the Lucas Museum for inviting me to this special preview! It was such an exciting experience, especially getting to hear George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, talk about the museum and the vision behind it.

A little Star Wars magic at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art! @lucasmuseum of Narrative Art is an incredible experience, from its breathtaking architecture and immersive galleries to the stories told through art. One of the highlights is The Art of Star Wars on the 4th floor, featuring iconic costumes and artifacts that bring the films to life.

And don’t forget to explore the garden, where you’ll find a few fun Star Wars-inspired structures tucked into the landscape.

A little piece of the galaxy right here in Los Angeles.

Museum opens Sept 22!
