Did I finish this duet months ago?! Why yes I did! But I had yet to review it so here we go!

This one checked so many boxes:
✔️Romantasy
✔️Spicy
✔️Paranormal
✔️Enemies to lovers
✔️Badass FMC

For me it was really good but something kept it from being great. I think maybe it was that I didn’t fully connect with the Male lead. It’s definitely still worth a read but won’t go down in my personal history of favourites.

It’s Fridays eve! Any fun plans for this weekend?!

Anyone else get to the age where you have to think really hard about what age their turning?! 🤪 🙋🏽‍♀️

In true Virgo-ness, this year I asked for a received a new digital wall calendar and I’ve been so excited setting up. Just another sign I’m getting older. 👵🏼

What horoscope sign are you and do you feel like it describes you well?!

☕️ Coffee & Currently 📖

Thank you for being here during this incredibly difficult time.. (Summer break ends next week😫). I’ve taken a break from wallowing in my grief to share a little reading update:

📖 I’m starting The Compound by Aislinn Rawle. I hadn’t heard of this one before but when I read the synopsis from @bookofthemonth it gave me Big Brother Vibes and I decided to give it a try.

🎧 I’m currently listening to What Happens in Amsterdam by @rlynn_solomon in audio and think I might be able to finish it today!

☕️ Side not to showcase my Taylor Mug because she’s cute and brings me joy which is truly needed in this time of mourning. 🥲

What are reading or listening to this week?!

⭐️Author ✍️ spotlight ⭐️

Just when you think you’re safe... An isolated women’s shelter destined for tragedy. An enraged husband hellbent on revenge…

For the past few years I’ve gotten the pleasure to get to know @larameredith_writes, a Canadian self published author. She very kindly gifted me a copy of her newest book, Thunder Bridge.

Here’s some things I think you’ll love about the book:

-spooky vibes but not too scary
-A strong female MC
-Women supporting women
-A touch of paranormal
-Trauma (Trigger warning for abuse)
- A little mystery

I always love being able to support indie authors! Drop your favourite indie author in the comments below or tell me a self published book you think I should check out!

Fun fact: I wish this was actually me today sitting outside in the sunshine. Instead, I’ve caught a summer cold (thanks airplanes! 🙄) and am rotting on the couch.

One thing that remains true is that I’m still listening to my audiobooks with my favourite headphones.

My husband hates hearing my audiobooks because he says it sounds like chipmunks but I think it sounds perfect.

Are you an audiobook girlie and if so, what speed do you listen to your books at?!

I usually start at 2.5x and then adjust based on the narrator. Accents usually means slow it down a bit and some narrators are just naturally slower or quicker so I go based off that. by @the.book.tasting

Happy Sunday! I’ve been trying to be better about buying books until I read more of the books I own but who are we kidding? Addicts can quit cold turkey! 😆

Here are my two latest grabs from the bookstore:

🌹 Rose in Chains - @juliesotowrites
I’ve read everything she’s published and now with her first Romantasy release there was no way I wasn’t going to grab it!

🔟 Releasing 10- Chloe Walsh

Arguably up there as one of my favourite series! I can wait to be hurt again 🫣

What was the last book that you bought or received?!

Book Review-

I hadn’t heard any amazing reviews for this one yet (keep in mind it came out Tuesday 😉) but I actually really enjoyed it!

Well, Actually by Mazey Eddings is fun, sexy and oh so snarky! Cooper is definitely a touch on the perfect side while Eva is sarcasm personified. I sorta love that she’s a bit of bitch and he loves that about her.

It will give you all the “Chicken Shop Date” vibes (especially the episodes with Andrew Garfield or Jonathan Bailey). It was lots of fun!

Thank you @macmillan.audio and @stmartinspress for my advanced copies!

What real life person would you love to see a book character based off?!

Lately I’ve been attached at the hip to my Kindle and currently I’m reading Kiss Of The Basilik 🐍 . I’m not even going to include a synopsis of what it’s about because if you making assumptions based on the title…. You’d be right! 🫣😆😆

What are you currently reading?!

Something about @carleyfortune books just hit so right for me. Being able to read One Golden Summer that is set on the lake in Ontario while at the lake in Ontario added to the experience and made me feel like I could have looked up and seen Charlie in his yellow boat cruising by.

I loved that the story was told from Alice’s POV when everyone expected the book to be “Charlie’s story”. If possible the book made me love Charlie even more so there is also that!

One thing I loved about One Golden Summer (other than Charlie😍) was catching up with Percy and Sam without it feeling like an extended epilogue.

Anyways if my rambling hasn’t made it clear, I loved it! 🥰

If you don’t recognize the song playing you likely don’t have young kids and aren’t on your 15th rewatch of #kpopdemonhunters 🤣. Not going to lie the movie was great and I’ve found myself singing all the soundtrack or requesting on Alexa more than once!

What song has been stuck in your head lately?!

🌫✨ Book Review ✨🌫
📚 *Atmosphere* by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Just when you thought TJR couldn’t top herself… she drops *Atmosphere* — an intense and gripping stunner that floats straight into your soul right from first few pages!🌄💫

Set in the early 1980s, the story follows Joan Goodwin—a physics & astronomy professor who answers a NASA ad seeking female scientists for the Space Shuttle program. As Joan delves deeper into space and bonds with her crew, she discovers a profound—and secret—connections. Then, during a mission in December 1984, everything changes.

☁️ **My Take**:
TJR’s signature magic is in full force — layered characters, emotionally rich storytelling, and dialogue that keeps you invested and pacing that keeps you desperate for what’s coming next.✨ The mood? Intense yet swoony. The vibes? Immaculate. The story? Amazing! I *devoured* this . 🚀 💔

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Would 100% recommend curling up with this one and letting it sweep you away. Atmospheric doesn’t even *begin* to cover it. 🌫💭

Would you ever go into space if you were given the opportunity?!

✨Currently Reading ✨

Happy Tuesday! I’m in university course for two weeks so I’m very slowly making my way through my 2 current reads.

👮‍♀️ Broken - @karinslaughterauthor
I’m diving back into the Will Trent series while Broken. No one does crime/ thriller/ mysteries like Karen Slaughter.

👻 The Ghostwriter- @julieclarkauthor

I’m still very early in the book but the creepy vibes are top notch already!!

What are you #currentlyreading ?!
