Are you team sprayed edges, or team plain pages? 👀

I prefer plain edges over a single-colored one ANY DAY! I had to settle for some of these because, for some reason, I couldn’t find the standard edition (???), or because the prettier limited edition came with them (like the Caraval ones).

If you do like the sprayed edges, which one is your favorite in your collection?

And so the FBM26 comes to an end 🥹 After walking around for 3 full days, I was EXTREMELY exhausted. But it was so worth it!

I made new book besties while waiting in queues, got a bunch of book recommendations, met incredible and kind authors (and got introduced to new ones too!), went on multiple treasure hunts (@fabelycom and @buchmesse I’m looking at you both 👀), and naturally came back home with bags of goodies and books.

My biggest highlight was, of course, meeting the amazing A. T. Emerald and hearing more about her creative process for Under the Iron Sky 🫶🏻 At this point you lot know how much I LOVED this book (and Golla… and Twiigs).

So, dear besties, come over next year! Besides being all the fun, I promise they have English editions for you too 💖

I know I’m extremely late to the party with this unboxing, buuuut as many of you know, I couldn’t use my right hand for almost a whole month. I could have skipped this box entirely, but this edition of Bodies of Magic by Freya Marske looks so interesting that I’m sharing it anyway 🤭

At the Academie of the Grand Duchy of Sieuxerr, young healer-mages have five years to hone their gifts before the Grand Exam, a five-day trial that decides their futures. The rules say you’ll perform five practical cases, your group is random, and you pass or fail together.

They don’t mention that on day one, your group will find a classmate’s body in the exam hall. Five scholars, each hiding a secret and each tied to the d*ad girl, have five days to solve her murder, pass the exam, and uncover a secret big enough to change the world.

I’ve seen this book a lot in my feed recently, and I’m very curious about it. Have any of you read it? What do you think of last month’s Illumicrate edition?

Let me be very clear: this is in no way, shape, or form a personal attack on anyone who enjoys these tropes or narrative devices. It’s just that I PERSONALLY am tired of seeing them repeat in every other fantasy book.

I remember back in the day when people were RAGING about the ending of Divergent, while I was in the group that actually quite enjoyed it. It was unique! It was unexpected, and I like to be caught off guard.

I feel like this is also why some books end up blending together for me after a year or two, and I really wish that wasn’t the case.

Anyway, do you share the feeling? What’s something you’re tired of seeing in fantasy books?

I feel like I filmed this ages ago (right hand not working and all that), but the feeling is still the same, okay?! 🙂‍↕️

I’ve been following the posts, impeccable artwork, and excited reviews for these two romantasy releases for months, and I could NOT WAIT to finally have The Sweetest Fiend by Raven Kennedy and The Emperor’s Enemy by Jasmine Mas in my hands 🥹

I’ve already heard some feedback on The Sweetest Fiend, but besides that, I’ll be coming into these books with a clear canvas.

Have you read either of them already? If so, where should I set my expectations? 👀

Who is able to guess all of the books by the maps? 👀

Last time I played this game with you, a lot of people weren’t able to guess many of them. So, in the spirit of making this guessing game a bit more fun, I’ve picked more popular books for each level.

I’m not sure you’ll agree with the difficulty levels, but once again, I’ve tried my best to guess what counts as “medium” and “hard” 😅

How many can you guess? Don’t be shy, drop your answers!

Under the Iron Sky is for sure one of the best books I’ve read this year. I’m talking 6⭐️ kind of good, the kind where I need 10 working days to recover after finishing.

The dystopian, magical world the story takes place in is extremely unique and the perfect setting for this dark fantasy. Soraya and Ikarus’ stories are so impactful and heartbreaking in so many ways, my eyes watered! By the end, I WAS CRYING! And Golla?!? Not to be dramatic or anything, but I’d do anything for him tbh 🥹

So my dearest, do you have this book on your TBR already? Or have you read it?

And so my Susanna Clarke set from The Broken Binding is complete! These two special editions are so well crafted 🥹

I’ve said it multiple times already, but I LOVE the quality and care @thebrokennbinding puts into their fantasy (and probably sci-fi) book subscription, and this unboxing proves it!

Now I need to know: what’s your favoehite book subscription box, and why? And if you don’t subscribe to any, which one would you like to?

With autumn now on its way, my days are getting shorter and shorter. That’s a nightmare for someone who comes from a tropical country like me 🥹

However, the good side is that every corner of my house can become cozy if I turn a projector on and light a few candles. This is BY FAR my favorite way to spend my evenings (and Sundays).

I should’ve snatched the vibe of the book I’m reading though 😅 I’m LOVING Under The Iron Sky!

Anyway, what’s your go-to way to cozy up a space to read a book? And what are you reading right now? 🥰

I’m not one to cry when reading a book, if I’m being completely honest. I may shed a tear or get a bit blurry-eyed, but that’s usually it 🫣

These books, however, were some of the very few that achieved the feat of making me shed multiple tears, whether out of sadness or happiness 🥹 (mostly sadness, tbh).

How about you? Do you often cry when reading a touching story? Which book made you cry the most?

This was quiteeeeeee the month, if I may say so myself! My September wrap-up was a bit of a rollercoaster (ups and downs), especially considering the 3.7⭐️ monthly average.

In any case, I loooooved doing my ACOTAR reread (still ongoing!), and specially loved discovering Nightshade and Daybreak. Everyone who recommended these was, in fact, correct 🙂‍↕️

Anyway, which books did you read this month that you’d recommend? Have you had the chance to read any of the ones I mentioned? I’m dyyyying for new book recommendations!

If you’re wondering why there are only 2 items in this month’s box, that’d be because FairyLoot forgot to pack the rest 🤡

But do not fret! I reached out to their customer support, and they’ve already successfully sent the missing items 🫶🏻 (though I didn’t film that part 😅).

Anyway, how do you like this edition? If you’ve already read it, do you have anything to share with the people?
