The Current is proud to present Dreaming in Tides, a group exhibition featuring Bahamian artists Javon Nixon, Christopher Outten, Alexandria Robinson, and Eddion Whyms.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, October 16th, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Current Gallery (Rotunda Shops) to experience this compelling presentation of emerging Bahamian artistic voices.

Dreaming in Tides brings together four distinct artistic practices that move beyond the boundaries of the observable world to explore identity, embodiment, spirituality, memory, and the psyche. Through surreal, symbolic, and psychologically charged imagery, the artists reimagine the human figure and familiar realities as spaces for introspection and self-discovery. Rooted in The Bahamas while extending beyond literal representations of place, the exhibition considers imagination as a powerful vessel for transformation, challenging perceptions of ourselves and the worlds we inhabit while envisioning new possibilities of being.

IN THE PRESS | At The Edge Of The Water 🌊

Thank you to The Tribune and Ava Turnquest for spotlighting At The Edge Of The Water, our latest exhibition at The Current: ECCHO, presented in partnership with Baha Mar Conservation & Sustainability as part of Bahamas Climate Week.

Titled “Exploring Memory, Loss, and Renewal,” the feature explores how 24 Bahamian and international artists examine our changing relationship with the natural environment through themes of memory, loss, and renewal.

Through diverse artistic perspectives, the exhibition invites us to look beyond the picturesque beauty of our landscapes and consider the environmental realities, cultural histories, and collective responsibilities they hold.

The Current is pleased to present Lynn Parotti (@lynn_parotti_artist) at FUZE Caribbean Art Fair 2026, Booth F21.

Expanding upon The Rewilding of Aquabotanica, Parotti presents a new body of paintings and drawings exploring the lush, resilient botanical worlds that have long shaped her practice.

For FUZE, these works extend beyond the frame into an immersive presentation. Artist-designed botanical composites wrap the booth, transforming the space into an expansive landscape and inviting visitors to step inside Parotti’s imagined ecosystem.

Moving between abstraction and representation, the presentation considers nature as a site of adaptation, regeneration, and continual reinvention—celebrating the extraordinary capacity of plant life to persist, reclaim, and transform.

At The Edge Of The Water. 🌊

Now on view at The Current: ECCHO, At The Edge Of The Water brings together artistic practices that consider water as both a living force and a cultural archive—shaping our landscapes, histories, communities, and sense of belonging.

Presented in collaboration with Baha Mar’s Conservation & Sustainability team as part of Bahamas Climate Week, the exhibition reflects on our relationship with the marine environments that surround and sustain us, and the ways environmental change reverberates through culture, ecology, memory, and identity.

Across the gallery, works spanning varied materials, images, stories, and forms invite us to consider water not simply as a resource, but as a threshold—a space of vulnerability and resilience, loss and renewal, connection and transformation.

Visit The Current: ECCHO at Baha Mar to experience At The Edge Of The Water, now on view through November and free to the public.
