Choosing the right mental health professional can feel confusing, especially when the roles of a counsellor, therapist and psychiatrist seem to overlap.

Each brings a different set of skills and expertise, and the right support depends on what you're experiencing, how it's affecting your life, and the kind of care you need.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. And remember, you don't have to wait until things become overwhelming to seek help. Taking that first step is an act of self-care. ❤️

Glad to have shared my clinical perspective on this with Zee News.

Ever switched off your laptop, put your feet up, and still found your mind racing?

That's because physical rest and mental rest are not the same.

Unfinished tasks, constant notifications, deadlines and repetitive thinking can keep your mind in a state of alertness long after the workday ends.

Learning to mentally detach, create boundaries and build small relaxation rituals is an important part of recovery.

Glad to share my clinical perspective in Health & Me on why our brains struggle to switch off — and what we can do about it.

31 days. 31 reminders.
One important truth: mental well-being isn't about being happy all the time. It's about learning to show up for yourself, even on the difficult days. 🌱

Pause. Adapt. Let go. Ask for help. And keep building a healthier relationship with your mind.

As this series comes to an end, remember: mental fitness isn't a destination; it's a relationship you keep building, one small shift at a time. ❤️

Here's to making mental well-being a daily practice, not just a 31-day conversation.

DAY 30🌸- Stop waiting for motivation. Sometimes, you just have to begin.

We often believe we need to feel ready, inspired or motivated before taking action. But the truth is, motivation isn't always going to show up when we need it.

Some days, progress looks like completing an entire project. Other days, it's simply getting out of bed, reading one page, taking a five-minute walk or finishing one small task.

And that's okay.

Don't underestimate the power of small, consistent actions. You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to take the next step.

Remember, action creates momentum, and motivation often follows.

You don't have to feel inspired to begin. Just begin. ❤️

Day 29- Connection Before Solutions
When someone comes to you hurting, our instant reflex is to fix it.
We jump straight into advice: “Have you tried this?” or “You should do that.” But delivering solutions too quickly actually creates a barrier. It leaves the other person carrying the weight alone, because their core emotional need was skipped.
Before offering fixes, offer emotional presence.

Simple validation builds an emotional bridge. It helps them feel seen, heard, and supported.

Day 28- What does enough look like for you?

More success, more money, more achievements… the chase never ends unless you decide where to stop.

You’re allowed to be proud of how far you’ve come without constantly asking yourself what’s next. Sometimes, enough is not giving up. It’s choosing peace over endless pressure. ✨

🌻 Day 27- You don’t have to figure it all out today.

Not every question needs an immediate answer. Not every feeling needs to be analysed. And not every situation will make sense right away.

Sometimes, clarity comes with time, experience, distance, or simply allowing yourself to sit with the uncertainty. 💛

Today’s reminder: It’s okay to not understand everything yet. Give yourself the same patience you’d offer someone you love.

Save this for the days your mind refuses to switch off. 🌿

Day 26- You’re allowed to be disappointed. 🖤

Not every disappointment needs a silver lining. Sometimes, things simply don’t go the way you hoped, and it’s okay to feel that.

You don’t have to find a lesson in every setback. Feel it, acknowledge it, and move forward when you’re ready. 💚

Day 25- Your past doesn’t have to dictate your future. 🧠✨

Growth begins when you stop treating old beliefs as permanent truths and give yourself room to reconsider, reframe, and update.

You’re allowed to outgrow the way you once thought. 🌱

Day 24- Who are you when you’re not being productive?

You are more than your achievements, job title, responsibilities, or to-do list. Your worth doesn’t disappear on the days you rest, slow down, or simply exist.

You don’t have to earn your rest. You don’t have to prove your worth. You’re allowed to just be. 🤍

Remember: You are a whole person, beyond what you do.

Day 23- Rejection is information, not a verdict.

Not every opportunity will work out. Not everyone will choose you. And not every closed door is a reflection of your worth.

Feel disappointed. Take the lesson.
Let go of the self-doubt.
And keep moving. 🤍
