So, there I was, standing right under Skogafoss, that mind-blowing waterfall in Iceland. And let me tell you, something incredible happened.💫

Suddenly, I felt this crazy connection to the sheer awesomeness of its power. My brain just went, like, “Whoa!” 😮 I mean, I was totally tuned into the intense rush of that cascading water, and it was giving me this mesmerizing and super exciting vibe. 🌊

For a hot minute, I was like in a total daze. 😵 I couldn’t move an inch. The deafening noise of the water was echoing through my whole body, and it made me realize every single second I was living in that moment. ⏳

Skogafoss is just mind-blowing, you know? It kinda makes you feel super small when you stand there, like you’re this tiny speck in the grand scheme of things. But at the same time, it’s like you’re plugged into Mother Nature’s awesomeness, you know? 🌿

It’s one of those spots where you can really soak in how amazing our planet is and just get lost in the wonder and zen of it all, even with all that crazy natural power going on. ✨

Why do some people repeatedly embark on such arduous journeys, leaving behind the tranquility of their homes for the harsh and inhospitable world? Despite the numbing cold and the struggle for each breath, their hearts burn with passion and longing.

As I paused to catch my breath and watched a group of intrepid hikers conquering the rough terrain we just crossed, I couldn't help but ponder the age-old question: why do some individuals repeatedly seek out these challenging pursuits? Though these types of endeavors may not be my cup of tea, I was struck by the allure that draws some individuals time and time again to push their limits and test the waters.

I found the answer when I returned. The mountains have a mysterious allure that is impossible to ignore. Once you've tasted the thrill of adventure in their heights, you are forever drawn back, unable to resist their call. It is a love affair with the unknown, a romance with the beauty and power of nature.

Chasing Aurora [3/3]

By the power of the almighty, I took my first step slowly. Okay, it looks good. Nothing happened. Let's try some more steps. The ice feels thick, and nothing cracked. After a few steps, I was fully confident, but then the view from there made me forget that I was standing in a frozen lake in the middle of the night during spring!

I opened my camera bag with excitement, but then I realized I had forgotten the tripod hook. How could I forget something so important? Without it, taking a decent picture in this low light was as difficult as trying to keep a snowball intact in hell. I felt like the dumbest person on the planet, standing on a frozen lake without a working tripod at midnight.

My toes were already frozen because I didn't wear winter boots, and my hands were shaking because I forgot my gloves. Thankfully, I remembered to bring my jacket, or I would have turned into a frozen mummy by now.

What should I do now? There is nothing on this plain frozen lake that can support the camera! Alright, let's search for some rocks on the shore to provide stability to the camera on the ice.

To my amazement, I discovered a wooden bench on the shore. I have no idea how it got here! Maybe god from the heavens sent it here out of compassion for me. Without any delay, I grabbed that bench and some rocks, positioned them a short distance from a tree, and set up my camera facing those stunning lights.

And that is how I captured the photo that is in my first aurora chasing post. However, over time, the sky became even more surreal. It was initially only green, but now it resembles a beautiful canvas painted by God Himself as a reward for all the effort I put in. I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked my camera; the beauty is simply indescribable!

Even if the ice beneath me were to crack now, and I ascended to heaven, I could at least recount to the kind souls there the heavenly beauty that caused my demise. I'm certain they would chuckle while sipping fine wine and wonder, 'What sort of foolish people are entering heaven now! by @the.visual.stories

The name “Toronto” comes from an Indigenous word meaning “where there are trees standing in the water,” which honestly felt pretty perfect standing here at sunrise.

I woke up before my alarm and caught the city glowing pink and gold over the lake, with the waves doing their quiet little sparkle thing. No crowds, no noise, just this.

Toronto is slowly settling back into itself after weeks of World Cup chaos taking over downtown. Big moments arrive loud and leave quietly. The lake doesn’t care either way. It just keeps doing this every morning, whether we’re watching or not.

Maybe the real gift is being awake enough to witness an ordinary moment.

Quebec has more than 500,000 lakes. But I think they’ve only named around 60,000 of them so far, then basically said let’s stop naming them. it’s too many :)

so this lake is just one of the lucky ones that has a name.

also that mist? it’s called steam fog. forms overnight when the air gets cold way faster than the water does, so the lake’s basically still holding onto warmth from the day before. but the second the sun actually comes up, it burns off fast. like faster than you’d think for something that took all night to build up.

been thinking about that one for a bit. how something can sit there for hours, feel like it’s permanent, and then just needs one shift to be gone completely. I’ve had enough years now to know most of what feels stuck really isn’t, it’s just waiting on one condition to change. you don’t always see what that condition is until it happens.

at this age you stop waiting to feel ready for things. you learn the feeling shows up after you start, not before. the fog doesn’t get a vote on whether the sun rises. it just does, and the fog deals with it.

do you ever wonder what in your life is just waiting on the sun to come up?

You know, it’s so lovely to think that love isn’t just something we humans feel. Nature has its own way of telling the most beautiful love stories. And if you ever need proof, just look at puffins. 🐧

These sweet little seabirds, they’ve really mastered the art of lifelong love. When a puffin finds their special partner, it’s a bond that lasts a lifetime. There are no distractions, no doubts, just a deep commitment to each other. They choose to be together, always. 💑

But the real magic in their story happens every winter. When the frigid winds roll in, puffins get separated, drifting thousands of kilometers away from each other in the vast ocean. They spend months on their own, battling rough seas, hunger, and that endless horizon. 🌊

But then, as spring gently returns, something wonderful happens. They begin their journey back. No matter the distance they’ve traveled, no matter the storms they’ve weathered, they instinctively know where to go – back to the very same cliff, the same cozy burrow where their love first blossomed. 🏡

And there, waiting patiently, is their beloved partner. Their reunions are so tender – gentle beak taps, like soft little kisses that say, “I’m so happy to see you again.”

Year after year, until their very last days, they find their way back to each other. It’s a beautiful reminder that true love isn’t just about staying close; it’s about choosing each other, with open hearts, again and again, even when life brings challenges. 💖

Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

About 150 years ago, big parts of the American West were still a mystery. One of the biggest unknowns? The Colorado River, a wild, dangerous river that cut through a deep canyon no one dared to enter. The rapids were crazy, the cliffs were steep, and honestly people back then didn’t even have cameras to prove they survived. So, why even bother, right? 🤷‍♂️😅

But then there was John Wesley Powell, a guy with only one arm, who looked at this unexplored part of the map and thought, Nope, that won’t do. Let’s go see what’s in there. 🗺️

So what did he do? He grabbed 10 guys, 4 wooden boats, and absolutely zero safety plans, and set off into one of the most dangerous places in America.

Now, Picture This...

You’re stuck in a canyon a mile deep. The river is throwing your boat around like a toy. Every time you hit a rapid, you’re sure this is the one that’s going to end you. Your whole body is screaming “STOP” but you know there’s only one way out, keep going.

Day after day, Powell and his crew fought against the river, the freezing water, and exhaustion. They were cold. They were starving. And worst of all, they had no clue if they’d even make it out alive. 🌊

And then, after barely making it through one near-death experience after another, three of the crew members said, “That’s it. We’re done.” They’d had enough. 😨

Powell tried to stop them. He told them climbing out of the canyon was just as dangerous, probably worse. But they didn’t listen. They took their chances on foot.

No one ever saw them again. To this day, no one knows what happened to them. 😨

But somehow, Powell and the rest of the crew survived. After three brutal months, they became the first people to travel the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, with no maps, no phones or portable charger, no backup plan, and a leader who only had one arm. 💪

Is there even one word to describe people like that? Because brave doesn’t seem strong enough. 🔥 by @the.visual.stories

Have you ever been to a place that just feels different? Like, you step in, take a deep breath, and something in the air just hits different? You can’t quite explain it, but it’s like the whole place is buzzing with some kind of invisible energy? ⚡

Well, some people believe there are actual spots on Earth where energy is either flowing into the planet from the universe or out of it. They call these places energy vortexes. 🔄

And guess what? One of the most powerful energy vortexes in the world is right in the heart of Sedona. Yeah, the whole place is basically an energy hotspot, but there are certain spots where things get next-level intense. 🔥

People who visit these places, especially those who meditate, often say they feel lighter, more connected and deeply in tune with themselves and the universe. There are tons of amazing stories out there about people experiencing this cosmic energy. Amazing isn't it?

I was only there for a short time, but I was blown away. Honestly, to me Sedona is one of the most stunning city in USA. 💖

The whole city is surrounded by big, red rock formations with green trees and plants all around. It looks like a beautiful garden tucked inside a giant, ancient red natural temple. 🌄💫

And the best part? Sedona knows how to keep it that way. City planner got strict rules to make sure buildings blend in with the landscape, only natural, earthy tones allowed, no flashy or reflective colors. Plus, most buildings can’t be taller than two stories, so nothing gets in the way of those million-dollar red rock views. 🏞️

Even McDonald’s 🍔had to tone it down there! Yep, no yellow color arches in Sedona. Instead, they’ve got turquoise arches because bright yellow was considered too unnatural for the landscape. Can you imagine if every city planner had this kind of aesthetic sense? What a dream that would be! 🏙️

Or maybe, just maybe, there's more at play here than smart city planning. Maybe it's the energy vortex at work, swirling all around, making everything feel a little more magical. Who knows? But one thing’s for sure, Sedona is a place you feel, not just see. ❤️

Have you seen "Forrest Gump"? You know that scene where Forrest just stops running after years, turns around, and heads home? Well, that happened right here on this stretch of road.

Over time, people started calling it Forrest Gump Point. There’s no sign or anything (Correction: The sign was there, but my FOMO brain totally missed it!), but loads of people come here to take pictures and recreate the scene. 🏃‍♂️

It’s funny how movies can take a place and turn it into something so iconic, isn’t it? I know the internet dominates our lives now, but movies still have this way of sticking with us. They’re not just something to watch, sometimes they make us curious, inspire us and even get us packing our bags to see the world. ✈️

The other day, I watched this old movie called "A Season of Good Rain". Part of it is based on a book by a Chinese poet named Du Fu. In the movie, there’s this park with a statue of him and a replica of his little hut. Honestly, I had no idea who Du Fu was (so shame of me 🙈), but after watching the movie, I started looking him up, reading his poems, and learning about his life. Now, if I ever get to China, that park is totally on my bucket list.

But then some places don’t need a movie to make them special, they’re just amazing on their own. Like this road with Monument Valley in the background. Even if you’ve never seen Forrest Gump, it’s still the kind of spot that takes your breath away. 🌄

What about you? Ever gone somewhere because a movie made it look amazing, then realized it didn’t even need the movie to be famous?

You know, it’s kind of amazing how almost every religion has its own story about how the world got started. And just like the major religions of the world, many Indigenous peoples also have their own beautiful stories of creation.

One such Indigenous group believes these Great Sand Dunes are where they first appeared. They say they didn’t come from anywhere else, this is where the Creator placed them. For this group, these dunes have always been their true home.

Because of that, they consider these dunes the holiest place in the entire universe - just like Jerusalem, Mecca, Kashi, or Mount Tai are for others.

But it’s not just these sand dunes. All around the world, different groups have their own sacred places. They’re not just interesting spots to visit; they’re living parts of people’s cultures and beliefs, and the communities care for them with great love.

Just like we respect the holy places in our own traditions, we should also respect these sacred sites. By honoring them, we celebrate the diverse beliefs that make our world such a special place.

Anyway, happy holidays, everyone! Wishing you lots of cozy vibes, delicious treats and all the holiday cheer!

The scale of these sand dunes is ginormous. We're talking 750 feet tall in some places. That's like bunch of sand skyscrapers, except these don’t have windows or elevators. Mind-blowing, right? And if you look closely in this picture, you’ll see people down there, they look like tiny specks, just dots on this sea of sand. That’s when you really feel the scale of this place. 🌄

Now, you might be asking, “Wait a second, how did all this sand decide to form sand mountains in the middle of Colorado?” Well, Mother Wind is the mastermind here. 🌬️

Here’s the story: A long, long time ago, this valley was home to a massive lake. When it dried up, the sand was left on the surface. But wind in this valley? Oh, it’s a savage beast. It didn’t let that sand just sit there all peaceful-like. Nope. It blew and blew, picked up all that sand, and pushed it straight to the foothills of the Mountains. And guess what? Those mountains are so tall, even the wind had to admit defeat. So, the sand just got stuck there forever. We call this place now the Great Sand Dunes 🏜️.

It’s basically the same thing that happens when you sweep your house. You blow the dust, and it all ends up stuck in some corner against the wall. Now, imagine that on an EPIC scale.🧹

So yeah, it’s like Mother Nature went nuts with her leaf blower and created this gigantic masterpiece. Absolutely wild, right? 💨
