Surprise! Steve is back with the Snowbirds for the 2026 show season. :) We are excited to be part of this amazing family again, and can’t wait to move back to Moose Jaw next month! Life is feeling a little more stable and all three of us are so grateful for this opportunity. When life isn’t working out, don’t be afraid to make a change. 🫶🏻✨ taken in Saskatchewan by @the2jet

Meet Snowbird 2, Captain Caitie Clapp.

Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Captain Clapp flew the CC-130 Hercules in the important Search and Rescue role before joining the Snowbirds. She graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada with a degree in chemistry and psychology before completing a Masters degree in microbiology. She flies in the Inner Right Wing position and is in her third show season with the team.

If you’re Canadian, you’ve probably seen the Snowbirds in action, and you’ve probably noticed how close they fly together — a level of precision that’s hard to fully appreciate from the ground. The pilots’ POV videos on social media gipve a glimpse of what it takes to make those maneuvers look effortless.

But how does someone get to that level of skill?

In the latest episode of Shoot Like a Girl Podcast, I talk to Captain Caitie Clapp about her journey to becoming a Snowbirds pilot. From flying Search and Rescue missions to training new pilots, Caitie walks us through the path that led her to wear the red flight suit and fly for Canada’s iconic aerobatic team.

Catch the full episode to hear more about the dedication and teamwork that goes into every flight.
