In case you forgot why i am on this platform.. Yes the 3bgt is still here.. here is some reminders..and last pic is how i use it now..lawn ornament. Gotta get cracking on the saab which i do miss driving as well.. Then also remodel some things in the house, so the passat is still on schedule for the showseason of 2035! #3bgt #vw #vwpassat #volkswagen #passat3bg #passatb55 #variant #18t #20vt #turbo #wagon #longroofsociety #builtnotbought #resonatordelete #snailunderthehood #turboflutter #cantrunstock #bbs #bbswheels #bbsgermany #bbsrx #bbsch #vwlife #vwlove #wagonmaffia #longboys #projectstaketime by @the_3bgt
So as some of you know, the company i work for has been forced to move location.. Just as we were finishing out latest remodel and expansion of our previous location the landlord said he sold the place. So we moved on. Got a newer, bit smaller kitchen but we'll make it work. A walk inn fridge was installed, second hand one. Which i completely had to revamp! Was not up to hygiene code. Holes and rust everywhere.. Swipe for a few steps back in to the week. Yes, everything hurts. #3bgt #chef #chefslife #remodel #movinonup This was one layer of paint less..and only a primer on the floor. Previous shot was with 3rd layer of paint and first layer of epoxy floorpaint. This was the first layer of spraypaint..better but still looked like shit. Every white painted piece was a mark, scratch or rust These are no-go points for a health inspector More shit that can't be accepted Rust... Co worker @tieskokk who gave me a lot of help during the whole project. This was the start...i nearly wept. by @the_3bgt
So yesterday we got "Bienke" back on dry land. We managed a whole 15 hours of boating .. Health and time being the biggest problem of this season. So we begin with a new list of tasks..and we start as soon as we can.. one thing i learned from last year is not to put everything off till after the winter. So when we moved locations with my work i will get cracking. The shortlist is; New waterhoses and clean out the tanks. Sort out some electrics and lighting. Paint the deck and upper wheelhouse. Maybe a new starter battery and teakfoam. And ofcourse clean the hull and antifouling. We'll see how it goes.... #3bgt #princess32 #motorvessel #motorboatingisfun #yearlymaintenance by @the_3bgt
Today we visited "the beasts of bugatti" exhibition @louwmanmuseum .. A good look in how it was all done. A W16 quad turbo engine for one of the most iconic cars of the past 25 years!!!! I'll walk you through... #3bgt #bugatti #diablo #veyron #chiron The engine, a technical masterpiece. 2 VR8 engines in a V lineup. 4 rather big spooly boys, a lot of piping and wires and more.. Produces a 1001 horses and 1250nm.. other engines in later versions reached a massive 1600 to 1850hp!!! Will you just look at it.. They fitted it to a lamborghini diablo which they had to rebuild the rear quarter panels so they could fit the radiators... Lots of different things that are quite different to a stock VT. So if you happen to have a diablo, can somehow russle up a W16 engine, you can build quite the project!!!! (Looking at you @onblackvince ) The first prototype! Nr1 Tape rests, weird rims which look like steelies, german written stickers on everything (kühlung, hydrolieköl, und so weiter) ugly exhaust, etc..only.thing sort of nice was the interior but also screws through the dash for all kinds of measurement computers and data logging devices.. One of the first finished cars..the veyrun 16.4. I have only seen once in real life, details where mind boggling.. Chiron, the follow up model. Again, so much tech, so impressive.. Really good looking? I have seen prettier. Special editions were also there..the veyron grand sport vitesse wrc. World record breaking monster which reached 410 km/h!! The chiron super sport 300+ which reached 300 miles an hour! 490km/h..but they resticted it for the "normal" people to 440km/h.. Which makes my daily commute take a whole 20 seconds longer..#firstworldproblems Some special edition..the bernar vennet, roadster which was specced by a french artist making it the most expensive open veyron around.. Millionaires game of who can piss the furthest.. This was on loan from @nationalesautomuseum Forgot which type this actually was. You could really see all the carbon everywhere.. even the wiperarms were CABON FAIBAHHRR The mistral.. last of the series production car with the W16 engine..only 99 where made but after that they built by @the_3bgt
Ok...i went shopping at my local supermarket.. In the nearby underground parking somebody opened up a classic cardealership i think... I particular loved the black and beige mercedes and that 300zx, sadly not a turbo... Good to see that some people keep their classics on the road! Which is your favorite?? #3bgt #cars #classics #undergroundparking #lovely by @the_3bgt
3 years without you mate...you would have been 20 if we didn't miss the signs. Bertus was my first cat that i raised on my own. The first 5 years it was him&me. Then kitty came and my wife and her cats..but our bond was a special one! There will never be a cat like him, my black shadow. Even followed me to the shops, waited for me to come home from work. You are deeply missed..day in , day out! Love you man.. #cat #greef #rip #blackcat #love by @the_3bgt
Yessss our baby is a bit cleaner today, ready for a lovely day out tommorrow! Cleaned the whole outside of the boat with "multishine" and the brushes from @profaclean .. makes the job a whole lot easier..my neighbour was doing the same with 8 different bottles, all supermarket shit. He was impressed to say the least! Still got a lot to clean but i'd say 90% there.. #princess32 #3bgt #motorboatingisfun #profaclean #ship by @the_3bgt
Today i finished some chores on the boat! 12v-220v converter installed. Started with depth cauge. Gaslines for cooking replaced. Some foam lignings done under hatches. Had some "old" diesel in a reserve jerrycan, put it into the tank so tomorrow i'll fill that up with new diesel. Checked the life vests. And gave our boat her name.. It was a proud moment. #3bgt #princess32 #motorvessel #classicship #neveradulldaywithanoldprincess by @the_3bgt

Finally!!!! Things were looking up a bit. The gearselector is working again thanks to @liquimoly bootfett! (Maritime grease) I put on the summer canopy, started it right up! So off we went for a small runaround. Then my wife missed a step getting back in the boat and she gashed her shin on that step. So after 10 minutes we went back because of pain and blood. I will spare you the details. So she needs to rest and recover, and we will start our holiday with a few days on the water and later a longer trip... But doesn't she look lovely??? #3bgt #princess32 #vetus #volvo #motorvessel by @the_3bgt
What a roalercoaster this boat proves to be!!! Last week i picked up the refurbished sterndrive. Got it mounted on monday and we put it back in the water tuesday..when going backwards i felt i "jolt" in the gear/throttle assembly..it was feeling hard to select drive. Later on barely could get it in reverse again! We limped it back into our spot in the harbour. Called my mechanic and he said it was probably the cable.. Made the first video for him so he could what was going on. In neutral it would move but other than that ?...locked. So he told me that he needed the code that was on the cable and that the boat should again need to be raised out of the water. FFS!!! We spent so much money on getting it ready and again we're dead in the water. So tonight i went into the boat, looking for the code of the linkage cable..when i noticed the gear selector was nicely coated in grease but not the top half and it seemed to be stuck there.. Hit it with wd40 lithium first and it came loose!! Then i remembered that there was a small tub of vaseline in the toolbox ( was wondering why?) So lubed the selector plate up and moved the shifter up and down and with each motion it went smoother and smoother!!! Looks like I fixed it!!! Started it up.. frontdrive✅️ reardrive✅️ see last clip. Really happy with the outcome... sunday we are taking it for a spin! #princess32 #3bgt #motorboatingisfun #questioninglifechoices #boat by @the_3bgt
We are officially dead in the water... Today i cut a hole in my swimming platform behind the boat to get to the oil-level tester on the outdrive. Yes it was the only way. Got the level..it was oily so i dropped the f**ker. Went to the action to get my a magnet fishing kit. It was the last one!! Dropped it in the water, got the level tester first try! Yeay!! Then checked the oil level..less yeay. In the 10-20 min it took us from the one harbour to our spot and mored it the oil level dropped from full to halfway. So no more sailing this season unless we find someone to overhaul the outdrive. Which no-one seems to want to do, takes too long, winterjob, no time, all excuses whilst i want to pay over a 1000 euro's to get the job done and save my holiday plans... So i tried to clean it with @profaclean which worked ofcourse but still i am done for today. I need a beer. #princess32 #3bgt #motorboatingisfun #questioninglifechoices #boat by @the_3bgt
