🌍✨ A NEW JOURNEY, A GLOBAL PLATFORM! 🇸🇱🇦🇺

As a lecturer, researcher, creative entrepreneur, and founder of the Arimah Literacy and Learning Initiative (ALLI), I remain committed to empowering young people, advancing education, and creating meaningful change in my community and beyond.

This acknowledgment represents another step toward connecting with changemakers from around the world and contributing to conversations that inspire transformation.

I look forward to the possibility of representing Sierra Leone on a global platform in Sydney, Australia, as an international speaker, delegate, and community representative.

The journey continues. The vision remains bigger than me. 🌍💙

Thank you, @edutourismforunity , for this opportunity to be part of the journey.

I still remember holding you a 2 month old baby for the first time like it was yesterday.I had no idea how to take care of a baby as a 22 year old but 5 years later we're here. You may not have slept in my womb yet You are my greatest joy, my proudest achievement, my whole heart. Happy birthday, my sweet 5 year old.Every birthday of yours is a reminder of how blessed I am to be your mother. by @the_arimah

70 kids. And around 4,000 “are we there yet?” questions. 😂

This week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming 70 young readers from Arimah’s Literacy and Learning Initiative (ALLI) to Tacugama.

ALLI is a community reading club where children learn to read, write and, perhaps most importantly, dream bigger. This time, they took the learning out of the books and into the forest.

And then came the moment they had been waiting for: seeing chimpanzees for real. Not in a book. Not in a photograph. Right there in front of them. 💚

Our vet Jessica talked to a very curious group of eight-year-olds about chimpanzees and conservation. They discovered the story of Bruno and Tacugama’s founder, Bala, only to realise that the man from the story was actually there… and they got to meet him too.

We particularly loved something ALLI wrote afterwards:

“Kids don’t just read the stories, they get to meet the people in them.”

And perhaps our favourite line of all:

“Education doesn’t need four walls.” 🌿

They came for the chimps. Hopefully they went home with a little more curiosity about the natural world, a few new stories to tell, and some even bigger dreams.

Thank you, ALLI, for spending such a wonderful day with us. 💚 by @the_arimah
