The forecast for the week: rain 🌧️
So I picked books that feel best read under grey skies.

This week’s rainy-day companions:

✨ When We Were Fireflies
✨ The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives
✨ Someday, Maybe
✨ Dream Count

There’s something about Lagos rain that makes every story feel softer, heavier, and a little more immersive.

All titles are available for purchase via DMs or WhatsApp. taken in Lagos, Nigeria by @the_bookhut

Pride Month is for stories that refuse to be erased.

Queer African literature doesn’t always shout—it lingers. It sits with you in silence, in longing, in survival, in joy that still finds a way through.

These are not just books. They are archives of feeling.

Nothing prepared me for the trauma I would encounter reading this book. I’m torn between recommending it so others can understand why I wept and got a headache, or not suggesting it to keep the rest of the world sane.

Would you intentionally read a book that might traumatize you? taken in Lagos, Nigeria by @the_bookhut

Dream Count walked in and said: “the front, the side, the back… stunning, amazing.”

Honestly, how are we supposed to choose between both covers when both are this gorgeous?
