The leaf shaped statuette is cast in glass by Toronto artist Bram Locknick. This past summer, he invited us into his studio to see how the magic was made. We're excited for producers to have some hardware for the mantel!

What a week at The Animation Conference (TAC), which took place alongside the 50th edition of the Ottawa International Animation Festival 🎬 Happy 50th @ottawa.animationfestival, a true milestone! 🎉

The CMPA presented the International Co-Production Briefing and Networking Breakfast, and our VP Lisa Broadfoot joined panels on kids’ content and advocacy for animation.

Another highlight of the week came from CMPA member company Shaftesbury, which announced a significant investment in Canadian children’s content and in @rocketfundcanada. Congratulations to @shaftesburytv, and thank you for investing in the future of Canadian children’s and family content! 👏

Great conversation at the Access Canada Summit today between the @the_cmpa's Reynolds Mastin and @iatsecanada's Monty Montgomerie. The two talked shared goals and industry solidarity.

Global streaming giants offer enormous opportunity. But to realize that opportunity, film and television works have to be commissioned, financed and produced, with fair opportunities for local independent producers to own their work when it’s all done.

The CMPA presented the Heated Regulations, Local Content Rivalries panel at TIFF: The Market.
Brendan Brady (@accentaiguentertainment, Canada), David Jowsey (@bunyaproductions, Australia) and Darach Ó Tuairisg (@fibinmedia, Ireland) joined @globeandmail Barry Hertz to discuss how local regulations can support domestic production, while also ensuring local content can reach global audiences.

The CMPA celebrated the signing of modernized audiovisual coproduction treaties with the UK and Spain yesterday at #TIFF26.

These updated agreements will make it easier for CMPA members to team up with British and Spanish partners, tap into public funding on both sides, and bring more Canadian stories to audiences everywhere.

The world wants to work with Canada. and it shows! With nearly 60 coproduction partners and more than $500M in coproduction activity every year, our screen sector is one of the most sought-after in the world.

The CMPA took over the Canada Pavilion at TIFF: The Market for the Canada Connection Hub, which included a full day of panels and networking between Canadian and international producers. With 3+ panels, 11 countries represented, and 200+ producers in attendance over the course of the day, it was the busiest pavilion of the day. And yes, there was a moose! Today at #TIFF26, a global coalition of 23 organizations, representing over 750,000 audiovisual sector workers across Canada, Australia, and Europe, came together to urge governments worldwide to support domestic production requirements and champion the diverse stories created by local independent production.
