POSTS STORIES REELS

HUMANWARE Summer Edition is out now!

This issue took us to Necker Island, to Duke University, to MIT, to LA, to Istanbul. Not because travel makes good photography (though it doesn’t hurt), but because the stories that matter tend not to come to you. You have to sit across from someone long enough that they stop giving you the rehearsed answer.✨

That’s how we ended up with Sir Richard Branson as this issue’s HumanWare Hero - not for the spaceflight or the six-decade career, but for the unglamorous daily habit underneath it. His own words on it: “You only have one body and one shot to look after it.”

Every one of our interviews where exceptional and the insights have shaped what the HumanWare channel is today. Our founder and editor-in-chief, Méline Liu, put it best in her own words for this issue: a good story works “read every other line, and pass on what the science is really saying.” 🤍

Who would you like to see in the next edition?

Sir @richardbranson, Dr Robert Lefkowitz, @hpotech.hyperbaric, @drdawnmussallem, @stevenkotler and more

100K subscribers… and now 195,966 - wow.

Somewhere between waiting for our 100K plaque and today, this community has continued to grow far beyond what I imagined.

We’ve 10x’d our growth in just over a year - and doubled our following in the last four months.

And in HumanWare style we celebrated with @kovapatisserie 🍰

Thank you for being curious, and coming on this journey with us!
This is only the beginning.❤️ by @the_humanware_project

What happens between podcast takes?
This time, we turned the cameras around.

In this special Get to Know Me epsiode, Méline answers questions about her own wellness rituals, daily habits, and the practices that help her stay grounded while building, creating, and having conversations with some of the world's leading minds.

A candid pause between recordings, because the conversations behind the scenes can be just as meaningful as the ones on set.

What if one of the most nourishing ingredients in your kitchen is also the most beautiful?

Ube, the purple yam, is a staple across Southeast Asia. Its colour isn’t just for show: it’s rich in anthocyanins, compounds that studies suggest may help calm inflammation.

In traditional Chinese medicine, purple and black foods have long been prized for supporting the kidneys and our deeper reserves of energy.

Add coconut milk for richness, and you have something that feels like comfort and works like care.

What if much of what we think we know about our cells was learned in the wrong place?🧬

Eric Betzig won the 2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for helping us see inside living cells in detail once thought impossible. Now, at @ucberkeleyofficial, he’s asking a harder question: are we looking at the right cells?

Méline get’s an exclusive look inside his labs and explores how Eric is changing the frontier of drug discovery!🧫

What if some of the best health and longevity secrets are not found in laboratories or supplements, but growing on trees right in front of us?

In this episode, Méline travels to Hainan, China’s tropical island, with @dhinilpatel to taste fruits rarely seen in London. They rate each one as they go...

What if the boredom you’re avoiding is exactly what your brain needs?

We’ve built a world that fills every quiet second and our brains have adapted to expect it.

These quotes rewired how we think about that. Scrolling feels like a source of dopamine, but over time it works more like a drain. The more stimulation we chase, the harder ordinary moments become to enjoy.

Swipe through for quotes from @jamescroall.13, founder of a peak-performance neurofeedback clinic, and @drdogris, CEO & Co-Founder of NeuroField.

When did you last let yourself be bored on purpose? by @the_humanware_project

If I were starting my longevity journey again, here are the 3 things I’d do from day one:

1️⃣ Start with your mind. If you don’t have a vision of your future self, how will you know when you’ve arrived? Define what “healthy” actually means for you.

2️⃣ Be kind to your resistance. I’m stubborn, especially about changing habits. That pushback is normal and human. You don’t need massive overhauls. Aim to be 1% better than yesterday, one thing at a time.

3️⃣ Don’t drown in information. After all the labs, clinics and conversations, the true practice of health is very simple: sleep, diet and exercise. The rest is understanding yourself, caring for yourself, and using technology as an ally, not a master.

The science is extraordinary. But the foundation hasn’t changed. by @the_humanware_project

I stepped into my own kitchen to find out whether I could cook.

No lab coat or podcast guest. Just me, a pot of soup, and one question: what’s the worst that could happen?
Mostly laughter, it turns out.

@gregfreyjr taught me this recipe at @thegoldendoor, and he made it look effortless. I’ll be trying it again when the cameras are off and I can focus on this tasty recipe.

After months of filming in labs and clinics, this was a gentle reminder that health doesn’t only happen in research. Sometimes it happens at the kitchen counter, laughing at yourself. by @the_humanware_project

I travelled to China’s tropical island with @dhinilpatel to find out whether longevity can grow on trees.

The tropical sun forces plants to shield themselves, and they do it by making antioxidants and polyphenols. We eat those defences, and research is looking closely at what they may do for our brains and how we age.

What does “eating for longevity” look like where you live?⬇️ by @the_humanware_project

Your one-stop shop for energising benefits: @gregfreyjr’s Potassium Broth

The broth is built from filtered water and crushed tomatoes, then steeped for about an hour with the trimmings and peelings of the season’s vegetables.

Each guest at @thegoldendoor then finishes it their own way with chilli flake, ground oats, flaxseed and the kitchen’s golden powder.

How to get 1% better, every day 🧠

My daily memory system: a wall of Post-it notes I walk past every single day.

The science behind it is simple. Memory research has long shown that seeing something again and again, spaced out over time, helps it stick far better than one long cram. Just repetition and paper.👀

But it’s also a reminder of something bigger. Whatever we look at every day is what grows. So I’m choosing to water the garden, not the weeds. by @the_humanware_project
