In the quiet haven of my study room, amidst towering shelves and the symphony of turning pages, my journey to becoming a doctor unfolded. Each book, each late-night study session, and every moment spent immersed in medical knowledge contributed to the evolution of my expertise. From the chaotic inception to the meticulously organized haven it is now, this room tells the story of resilience, passion, and the pursuit of healing. It witnessed the struggles and triumphs, the doubts and the breakthroughs. This sacred space is not just a room; it’s a testament to the countless hours invested, the sacrifices made, and the unwavering dedication that transformed a mere student into a proficient healer. As I look around at the neatly arranged texts, the well-worn notebooks, and the countless hours invested, I realize that this room encapsulates not just my journey, but the countless lives that will be touched by the knowledge gained here. Here’s to the study room that was not just a place of learning but a crucible that forged me into the compassionate and skilled doctor I am proud to be today.

Dr. Natasha Gambhir @dr.psychandstyles is a PGY4 Psychiatry resident in the US, she shared her journey and answered questions about her residency program, she also runs her business @baateincommunity, go check that out! She gave a lucrative insight about the program, talked about importance of communication in mental health and also explained how being ethnically diverse (which I believe all the img’s are in a sense) is helpful in becoming a psychiatrist.

@drcyntan (Dr. Cynthia tan) is an Anesthesiology resident in the US. She is an IMG, completed her Medschool in the UK, it was amazing talking with her and knowing her journey, she answered all the questions in detail about her journey as an IMG, her preparations for the step exams, electives, research 🔬,the difficulties she faced during the whole procedure and IMG mentorship. Dr. Cynthia also runs her medic page on Instagram @drcyntan go follow her, she is amazingly helpful. It was an absolute pleasure talking with her.😊 by @the_medbridge

Dr. Soni @thesoniclinic is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, following medical school at Imperial College London, Dr. Soni relocated to the United States and completed a research fellowship at world renowned Weil Cornell’s New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, trained as General surgery resident at John Hopkins, and did his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at university of Washington, Dr. Soni now lives in the UK runs his own clinic, in today’s live he told us about his journey of becoming a world class plastic surgeon, answered all the questions in detail and gave his really cool insights comparing both the UK and the US system, it was really amazing talking to him.

Fear, inherently, is not meant to limit you. Fear is the brain’s way of saying that there is something important for you to overcome. For me “Fear” was accepting the fact that there’s no better time to take my step 1 exam and now I am over that fear or procrastination. Nevertheless the update is that I have started my dedicated for step 1 and soon gonna take the test, currently revising my U world blocks and gosh it’s just taking so damn long to do it, certainly there are gaps in my knowledge but I got this. Wish me luck guys!

Zainab @themultilingualmedic is a charismatic final year medic in the UK, a med school admission panelist, she also help students with personal statements and preparation for various English proficiency exams, she has just submitted her application for FY1 and shared some wonderful insights about the British system. In the conversation we compared different medical systems around the globe and Zainab provided us with some really cool clinical experiences and stories which gave an overview of the system she works at. by @the_medbridge
