A feeling of nostalgia, seeing our work stand tall once again, after so many years, beneath the night sky in Duqm, Oman.

Bathed in the light of the full moon, the sculptures reveal another character altogether. Their silhouettes become sharper against the quiet night, while light and shadow trace their forms in ways the day cannot. With every moonrise, the sculptures seem to find a new life—standing timelessly beneath the ever-changing night sky.

We’re delighted to receive these images directly from Oman, thanks to @pradeepnair1505 for sharing this straight from Duqm, Oman and bringing back memories of the hands, vision, and journey that brought these sculptures to life.

A big thank you to Baroda for showing up for our Visual Literacy for All Research Lab & Open Studio. 💛

We were honestly overwhelmed by the response, so much so that we ended up extending the exhibition for another week! 🥹
More than the numbers, it was the conversations, questions, feedback, and thoughtful notes you shared with us that we’re carrying forward.

We’ve gone back to the drawing board questioning, and rethinking, with a simple hope: to get 1% better every day.

Because building a more conscious, accessible visual learning culture in an increasingly digital world is a long journey. And we’re just getting started. 🌱

Thank you for being part of the beginning. ❤️ taken in Vadodara, Gujarat, India by @the_useum_

What happens when, in a world of selfies, we use the self-portrait to express ourselves and understand where we come from? 🤔

Visual Literacy for All presents its first exhibition, "What I See From Where I Stand" — a body of work from our Ladakh Chapter, created in collaboration with @regenerative.nomads and 14 children from the indigenous Changpa community of Ladakh.

Through self-portraits, photography and playful ways of seeing, the children explore questions of identity, culture, place and belonging.

Come experience what they chose to see and what they chose to say.

✨ 4–5 September | 11 AM–7 PM
📍 Kanan the Art Space / The Useum Gallery, Vadodara

But wait.. There’s more! 👀✨

As part of our Research Lab, we’re bringing students from schools and colleges across Vadodara into the process through a series of fun, hands-on visual storytelling workshops. 🎨📸

And the best part? What they create will become part of the exhibition too! 💫

So come see the show and see the world through their eyes. 💛

After 7 years of working as a filmmaker and photographer across India, I found myself asking: what do images allow us to see, question and understand?

In a world that is becoming increasingly visual, we are no longer merely consumers of images, we are constantly creating, sharing and circulating them. But how often do we pause to critically engage with what we see? That question became the seed for Visual Literacy for All.

This summer, I piloted the project with @regenerative.nomads in Changthang, Ladakh, using play-based workshops to explore identity, self-representation, memory and landscape with young participants from the Changpa community. The resulting project, What I See From Where I Stand, will now be on display at @kanantheartspace @the_useum_

Alongside the exhibition, I’ll be hosting a Research Lab and Open Studio, sharing the processes, questions and experiments behind the project.

From the first cut to the final impression, the Woodcut Workshop at Useum was an exploration of texture, patience, and the joy of making by hand.

Two days of carving, inking, printing—and creating something uniquely your own.
