A weekend rooted in brotherhood, leadership, and purpose.

The 2026 Eastern Region College Brothers Retreat brought College Brothers together to connect, cultivate, and strengthen the skills needed to lead beyond the letters. From impactful conversations and development sessions to fellowship across the Region, CBR 2026 was about preparing the next generation of Alpha leaders to continue moving Onward and Upward.

Happy Father's Day to the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Eastern Region! 🎩

Today we celebrate every brother wearing the crown of fatherhood; dads, granddads, surrogate fathers, godfathers, mentors, and the sponsors who stepped up when a young man needed someone to believe in him.

Fatherhood isn't always about blood. Sometimes it's a Big Brother, a chapter advisor, or a brother who simply showed up when it counted. Alpha men have been fathering in our homes, our chapters, and our communities.

To every brother holding that title in any form please know, we see you, we honor you, and we celebrate you today. 🖤

Happy Father's Day, Brothers. 👨🏾‍👦🏾👨🏿‍👧🏿👴🏾

On December 4, 1906, at Cornell University, seven visionary men dared to dream in the face of adversity. Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy Alpha Phi Alpha —our beloved Seven Jewels—founded Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.®, creating a brotherhood that would transcend time and transform the world.
In a racially hostile environment, these pioneers bound themselves together to ensure each would survive Alpha Phi Alpha, establishing principles that would guide generations: Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love For All Mankind.
Our Jewels blazed trails in every direction:
• Kelley became the first African-American engineer registered in New York State Alpha Phi Alpha
• Tandy became New York's first registered Black architect Alpha Phi Alpha
• Jones served as the first Executive Secretary of the National Urban League Alpha Phi Alpha
• Callis became a Howard University Professor of Medicine and the only Jewel to serve as General President Alpha Phi Alpha
Their legacy lives on through trailblazers like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Thurgood Marshall, Charles Hamilton Houston, and W.E.B. Du Bois, who carried forward our commitment to justice, scholarship, and service. From the Montgomery Bus Boycott to the Supreme Court, from the NAACP to the National Urban League, Alpha men have shaped history.
Today, over 280,000 brothers strong globally, we stand on the shoulders of these giants. First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All.
Happy 119th Founders' Day, Brothers! 🖤💛

Brothers of Alpha East:

As we gather in Thanksgiving this season, we pause to reflect on the blessings of brotherhood, service, and shared purpose that bind us together across distances and generations.

For 118 years, Alpha men have embodied a spirit of gratitude not merely in word, but in deed—serving our communities with distinction, uplifting those who have been marginalized, and standing as beacons of leadership when our nation and our people have needed us most. This Thanksgiving, we honor that legacy and the Brothers who have paved the way, reminding us that true gratitude is measured not by what we receive, but by what we give.

In a world that often tests our resolve, we remain thankful for the bonds of brotherhood that sustain us, the values that guide us, and the collective strength we draw from one another. As Alpha men, our gratitude extends beyond our own tables to the communities we serve, the families we support, and the future generations we inspire through our example of excellence, dignity, and unwavering commitment to justice.

Let us carry the spirit of this season forward—not just in reflection, but in action. May we continue to be men of service, men of courage, and men who transform gratitude into tangible change for those who need it most.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Thanksgiving filled with joy, peace, and the warmth of brotherhood.

Bro. Rasheen Smith, Eastern Regional Vice President

In the true spirit of our beloved fraternity we pause during these turbulent times to recognize and embrace one another with compassion, encouragement, and unwavering support.

The ongoing federal government shutdown has placed a burden upon many of our brothers across the Eastern region, their families, and their livelihoods. As men of Alpha Phi Alpha, we do not turn away in moments such as these; we lean in, shoulder to shoulder, and bear the load together.

Regardless of one’s faith, tradition or background, know that you are not alone. Our Brotherhood extends beyond circumstance. We remind you of the resilience within you, and we call upon the collective strength of Alpha to remind each other that brighter days will come. Even in uncertainty, the bonds of brotherhood remain steadfast, a constant source of hope, unity, and courage.

If you are experiencing challenges during this time, we encourage you to reach out. Let your brothers stand with you, pray with you, walk with you, and help guide you toward the resources and support you may need. There is no shame in asking, and there is no burden too great to share. We will continue to pray and urge members of Congress to move swiftly and courageously to end the federal government shutdown so that resources will again reach brothers, their families and their communities.

As we endure together, let us remember that the joy of our fraternity is that none of us journeys alone. The strength of Alpha lies not only in the brilliance of our individual men, but in our collective resolve to “hold high the light of Alpha” in both triumph and trial.

We love you. We support you. We stand with you. Always remember, You aren’t heavy, You're my Brother. #StrongerTogether #AlphaEast #OneALPHA #AlphaVIP by @thealphavip
