Join the AFAA D.C. Chapter and the Archer Center for a food donation drive supporting SOME (So Others Might Eat). Donations can be dropped off at the Archer Center Monday through Friday, October 12–16, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, October 17, donations can be made from noon to 2 p.m., with D.C. As we near the semester’s midpoint, it’s time for a Fall 2026 Archer Fellow check-in! Our Fellows have been busy connecting with peers during Thursday Coffees with the Archer Center; engaging in a discussion on democracy, human rights, and the future of Europe with Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset; exploring fiscal policy challenges through Brookings Institution’s Fiscal Ship simulation; getting creative and building community during an Art & Game Night at the Archer Center; and coming together for a performance of the Tony Award-winning Come From Away at Ford’s Theatre. The past few weeks prove there’s never a dull moment in our nation’s capital. by @thearchercenter

Members of the fall cohort recently visited the University of Virginia School of Law for a day of learning and connection! The day featured a campus tour, a UVA Law student panel with Archer Fellow alumni, a conversation with admissions officers about the law school application process, and a visit with the law school’s Lone Star Lawyers student group. Six Vaqueros were selected among 50 graduate students from UT System schools for the Graduate Archer Fellowship this summer. They returned to campus for the Fall 2026 semester empowered by their six-week experience in Washington D.C., where they took a summer courseload of three graduate classes in addition to completing a policy-related internship.
This summer’s Graduate Archers – all pursuing MBA’s or medical degrees at UTRGV School of Medicine (SOM) – learned how they could participate in advocacy and leadership to improve medication discovery and research for rare diseases, address disparities in access to healthcare, and create policy for long-lasting solutions.

We’re excited to welcome Isaiah Joseph to the Archer Center team as our new program coordinator! Based in Washington, D.C., Isaiah will support the coordination and delivery of the Archer Fellowship experience, helping lead program operations, Fellow engagement, and events throughout each Fellowship term.

Isaiah is already a familiar face to the Archer Center community. As a Summer 2026 Graduate Archer Fellow, he interned with the U.S. Government Accountability Office on its Education, Workforce, and Income Security team.
