We’ve taken our show title, “And When I Was Ready, She Brought Me Back Here,” from a piece written by one of our dancers, @sara_marilyn . From the beginning, our vision for The Ballet Salon was always more than just a dance company. Our vision was to create a community of true artists and build spaces both within and beyond the studio for our dancers to explore all the layered parts of themselves and all the emotions, both beautiful and complicated, that arise with returning to ballet. 🩰 Magic is brewing in the studio this week 💫 photo @aliceplati by @theballetsalon

Finally back on Earth after @theballetsalon ’s Studio Showing: An Afternoon of Work-in-Progress. Thank you to everyone who came!

@meiying_thai and I have been moving forward one step at a time, but Sunday was a moment to pause and truly take it in. In a room full of friends, family, and support, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the group of women who were about to perform after so many years. So much passion, work, and dedication led us to this moment—not just over the past few months, but even decades ago. I’m not sure what they look like walking around the world but it’s pretty special that I get to see them lit up while doing the thing they love. Thank you to @emilycardea & @oloveya16 for helping us continue to grow in our love of dance.

We showed excerpts from the incredible ballets choreographers @jurionuki, @tiff__em, and @creativelifenyc created with us this summer through the Choreography Incubator. We also showed a taste of what dance rehearsals are like which usually remains hidden away but I think is sooo magical. This was our first moment sharing that sparkle of our community and collaborators with the world & I couldn’t be more proud ❤️

Second to last pic was our company warm up class before the showing followed by a video from our FIRST EVER COMPANY CLASS in March…who woulda imagined.
