Got to play the bass and deliver weird blank stares with one of my all time favorite guitarists @douggillard and all time favorite drummers and former bandmates @rkubian at Dromfest 2026 yesterday. It did not suck. Thanks @sugarblastmusic for throwing such an epic annual shindig! taken in Catskill, New York by @thebeaujour

If you knew me when I was in Shake Appeal, you will remember that I was totally fixated on the band touring Japan. That never happened but @dasbanklyle finding our single in a Tokyo record store is a nice consolation prize! by @thebeaujour

I’m psyched to have my band @valleylodgeband’s version of @officialdgen’s “Too Loose,” produced by @thebeaujour, be the debut single on the tribute album to @jesse_malin “I Would Do It for You, Vol. 1.” Go listen now! Full album out Sept. 11 on @wickedcoolrecords. Pre-order and pre-save now or I’ll turf your lawn. by @thebeaujour

When I got my first COVID shot in March 2021, I wore my @gearclubpodcast shirt for good luck. So you can imagine what being a guest on the show represents to me. Thanks @john_agnello @heyfrazee @lermanstewart @eventideaudio by @thebeaujour

Thank you @rollingstone for letting me contribute some words to this soon-to-be-hotly debated list. More importantly, how fucking sweet is the two-tone @espguitars Slash is playing in this collage? I always coveted Izzy Stradlin's white ESP Tele, but have never seen this one! by @thebeaujour

“I have to remind myself it’s okay to play the tops of chords.”

@douggillard has got a great work ethic. It’s helped him tackle dozens upon dozens of new @guidedbyvoicesofficial songs most years, as well as recreating the Beatles’ enormous Cavern-days setlists with @bambikinoofficial . Still, the prolific guitarist and songwriter had to consciously make a “mad dash” to finish the group of songs on Parallel Stride, his first solo album since 2014.

Doug hits on: stringing together speaker-jumping, chorus-warbling solos with one of his Blue-plated Boss pedals; the aged Goldtop he played at Tom Beaujour’s Hoboken studio; whether or not the main earworm in power-pop “New Vista” was a subconscious salute to Rush; songs on an imagined isolation; and his penchant for low-string drone notes.

Interview in the latest @guitarworldmagazine , on stands now and online soon.
Doug Gillard’s Parallel Stride out now via Dromedary Records.
