To the women who nurture, carry, pour, protect, sacrifice, rebuild, and love beyond measure- this is our prayer for you.

May the joy you feel be everlasting.
May laughter echo louder than doubt.
May your children remember your warmth, your softness, your presence, and the way you made them feel safe in this world.

May the painful moments be temporary.
The exhaustion. The guilt. The grief. The silent worries you carry in your heart and body. May they pass gently, and may you be reminded that you were never meant to carry everything alone.

And may the love you experience be unconditional.
The kind of love that pours back into you.
The kind that sees you not only for what you do for others, but for who you are at your core.
Whole. Worthy. Human. Deeply deserving of care, too.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, grandmother, caregiver, mother figure, and nurturer. The world is softer because of you. 🤍 by @theblacknannynetwork

Love as a weapon.

Love as resistance.
Love as protection.
Love as truth.

In a world that tries to harden us,
love is discipline.
Love is integrity.
Love is choosing what protects the most vulnerable, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Love demands accountability.
Love builds villages.
Love creates safe spaces.

May our love be active.
May it be courageous.
May it be strong enough to confront what weakens the village.

Children don’t just remember what we teach them.
They remember how we made them feel.

Caregiving is not just supervision.
It is nervous system regulation.
It is identity shaping.
It is sacred.

May we hold children in ways that teach them they are safe in this world.
And may we treat one another with that same gentleness. by @theblacknannynetwork

“It takes a village” wasn’t just a cute saying.
It was protection. It was strategy. It was love.

Long before caregiving became contracts and agencies,
it was grandmothers, aunties, neighbors;
hands that bathed you, fed you, corrected you, covered you.

A village is not just proximity.
It is shared responsibility.
It is cultural memory.
It is accountability.

Children do not grow in isolation.
They grow in ecosystems.
And every adult in that ecosystem leaves an imprint.

If we claim to be part of the village,
then we must carry the village values:
care without ego,
guidance without harm,
correction without cruelty,
love without conditions.

Because the village is meant to protect the child,
not protect the adult who causes harm.

May we remember that caregiving is communal.
May we honor the elders who modeled it.
May we build villages that are safe for every child.
