This first photo brings me so much joy. 🥹 This is me at my peak - just a solo girl backpacker out there in the wide world. And this time, I got to set off on another adventure and found myself in the lovely little town of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca on the west coast of Mexico 🇲🇽. I was planning on staying 7-10 days…. I stayed a month! The days were consistently warm and sunny, of which many were spent drinking matcha at my favorite cafe 🍵 playing mermaid 🧜🏻‍♀️ in the bright blue ocean (I swam with 100’s of dolphins! 🐬😍), eating delicious foods (yes, LOTS of tacos 🌮 so many I even got sick lol). I got to do a turtle release on my birthday which was so cute 🥹🐢, giving the girls rides around town on my Barbie-pink scooter with my clip on Bluetooth speaker blasting tunes (core memory💖), and spending my days going about town with the best humans. I always get so lucky when I travel and find the best people to go on adventures with. Thank you all for being a part of my soul journey (you know who you are!). 🥰🙏🏼🛵💖☀️🐢🍃🌅

Sandboarding down a volcano with an epic sunset? Check ✔️ One of the coolest things I’ve done here in Nicaragua and a great way to end my incredible travels through this beautiful country. I spent 7 weeks in Nicaragua and I’ll never forget the feeling of swimming naked under waterfalls, scootering under the stars, watching gorgeous sunsets, learning the most beautiful language, eating passionfruit every day, and the most amazing part? It took me two solid months to shift myself from a half a year of exploring a wide and wondrous universe with unlimited adventures, to the sobering stillness of a cold and dull place, but with familiar faces of the kindest humans. ‘Reality’ was hard, ‘order’ was hard (chaos was easier?) ….but wasn’t that also reality? It’s God’s planet here or there, and I am of this planet, so in seek of the divine answers I immersed myself in the vast earth. I swam in the seas and sped through rich jungles, I drank the nourishing juice of 100 ripe coconuts and basked in the sun topless. Honestly, it felt pretty damn real to me. 😆🥰🛵🏝️☀️🌊🥭🥥

Loved interacting with (not riding!!) these majestic creatures. About half of them are retired/rescued from the circus. One of them even miscarried due to people riding her too much 🥺 Fortunately, awareness is spreading and in Chiang Mai a lot of the sanctuaries now forbid elephant rides and entertainment (painting, tricks, etc). They now focus on giving them a happy and healthy life in a low-stress environment.
