Setting the mood for autumn

It’s time for the leather jackets, a NASTY boot and cozy sweaters

#thebureauofstyle #autumnstyle #fallfashion by @thebureauofstyle

Found two tops I can wear now and went through all my sweaters. Getting rid of 2 and keeping the rest. Which isn’t bad at all. To see the full sorting and history of each sweater head to my YouTube channel!

If you notice I don’t have a lot of high end sweaters but I’ve had most of them for a long time. I attribute that to taking care of them. Meaning hand washing or using the gentle cycle and laundry bag. Using specialized detergents, line drying them and wearing a tank top or t-shirt under them to extend use between washing them. #thebureauofstyle #sweaters #merinowool #cashmere #clothingcare by @thebureauofstyle

Get on your googles and find those fall/winter steals from last season. Personally I’m focusing on sweaters and leather goods.

While shopping stick your plan/list. If you are looking to replace old sweaters just look at sweaters etc.,

Need help sussing out if something is a good deal? Send me a dm!

Style is built in layers most people never see. The sock is one of them, a small, deliberate choice that can either support your look (suiting etc.,) or express your personality.

The slip-and-shorts combo doing more for your outfit than you think.

A slip worn under your clothes smooths your silhouette: it eliminates static, clinginess, and visible lines, so whatever you’re wearing over it falls cleaner.
Shorts underneath the slip do the other half of the work: protecting your thighs from chafing, especially in dresses, skirts, or anything without built-in coverage.

Two layers, two different jobs. Both quietly doing the most.

Picture this, its 2014 I’ve visiting Ghana for at the first time as an adult. Ghana is also in the World Cup. Of course I need to get a jersey and then I find out that the Ayew family live across the street from my Aunt (where I was staying). The Ayew family includes Abedi Pele who served as captain of the Ghana national team and is regarded as one of the greatest African footballers of all time. His 3 son’s Ibrahim, André and Jordan, have also become internationals for Ghana. André and Rahim – represented Ghana in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa while Jordan and André represented Ghana in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Finally Jordan Ayew is representing Ghana for this year’s World Cup!

So, imagine my surprise when my cousin walks me over with my jersey and Abedi signed it! I didn’t get to meet him but I was sooo amped lol.

I’m proud to wear this jersey today - GO BLACK STARS

It’s summer in Toronto and my winter clothes are still out. Yes, I’m a stylist. No, I’m not immune.

We’re doing a full wardrobe edit together: what stays, what goes, and how I actually think through a seasonal clear-out. This is the kind of thing I do for clients every day, and today you’re coming along for the ride on my own closet.

This is just a preview head to YouTube @bureauofstyle to watch the full edit.

It’s finally consistently warm in TDot (couldn’t be happier) to make this a comfortable summer I would recommend wearing a combination of the following fabrics:
- Cotton
- Linen
- Silk
- Tencel/Viscose
- Modal***

*** as we’ve been talking about underwear (see previous post) modal to me is the perfect underwear fabric for the summer as it is breathable, soft and moisture wicking. So you stay dry and comfortable!

POV: someone finally told you to throw out the itchy lacy ones 🗑️✨

Your underwear drawer is a vibe check you didn’t know you were failing. If you’re digging past 5 pairs to find the one you actually like… we need to talk. 👀

Comfort is the foundation of effortless style — literally. The right underwear = better posture, better energy, better everything. And yes, wear the granny panties if that’s what makes you happy. It’s 2026, panty lines are NOT the enemy. 😭

Go look in that drawer. I’ll wait. 🫡

New series alert 👇 We’re starting from the bottom (foundation garments first!) and building up. Next up: socks. Yes, SOCKS. Don’t sleep on it.

No judgement, what’s the oldest pair of underwear you have in your drawer right now? Poll ⬇️

Staple this staple that, just tell me how to fix my style!

Ultimately you are looking for a way to create the style that you covet but it’s just not working. The tricky part of the wardrobe staples convo is like most things, it’s not a one size fits all. In this post I offer some starting points on how you can figure out what kind of staples you need.

Next week we’ll walk through step by step how to do this. by @thebureauofstyle

Art is a reflection of the times. This year’s Met Gala? A very precise one. I’ve been thinking about celebrity culture, creative restraint, and what it means to attend the biggest night in fashion and wear beige.
