Scuba diving for brunch!

The itch to always be in water but I never imagined the amount of salt indigestion today! Adventure is healing juice for the mind and body. Everything you've heard about how beautiful the ocean is, so true! 💙 if #blackgirlswhodive truly is a thing, Incredibly proud of us for making it into the #deepblue!! #scubadiving Had an incredible day with @jonioprodivecatania 💙 taken in Italy by @thecarbonbuddy

2024 started on a rough 🎲 roll, but I played and won…

often we’re made to feel like careers just happen. The truth is you could put your head down work extremely hard, put in all the hours and you could still never get what you deserve or desire.

Much like anything succeeding in any kind of career or fulfilment in finding purpose in life is a game of chance. But as with any game, you MUST keep showing and playing to have a chance at winning.

Here’s how I have found that increases your chances to succeeding (whatever success might look like for you, I think these apply) let me know what you think!

📍Be brave enough to start again. Especially when things don’t feel right… move you are not a tree.

📍 Learn to be comfortable with circumstances, with conversations… ripe the bandage off. Save time, and emotions

📍 Bet on yourself. For anyone to truly believe in you or what you delivery. You have to show that YOU believe in it. Bet on YOU!

📍 and finally, SHOW UP. Being shy never got anyone anywhere. I like this saying “you’re too broke to not be visible” 😅 showing up looks different for different people, I for example haven’t found the season to make instagram reels but I’m showing up elsewhere.

Hope these are helpful, looking forward to seeing us all win in 2025. Happy new year!

Reminiscing on this conversation with @basilsef and the good folks at @ecoametsolutions released earlier this week.

I shared on where Energy in Africa is but extended to how we can increase and determine what energy solutions Africa an countries can provide for the continent and beyond.

We weren't simply stating facts, we detailed solutions and that sets apart a genuine energy transition conversation. Full video on @YouTube #energy #áfrica #energytransition by @thecarbonbuddy

Back in #Enugu since in Law school! We had a busy itinerary but one bit I needed to share was our day that included a visit to the @centreformemories 🫡

I recognise and appreciate how the culture & richness of Eastern Nigeria is strongly embedded in Nigeria's history. We always speak about how there's little to no preserved narratives in Nigeria - well here's one to go visit (or donate to support!)

Thank you @chiedonwachi @coolfinesse for keeping our history alive in your own significant way!

PS: I am an officially an August Visitor in case you missed it 😉

PSA: NIGERIA'S TECH ECOSYSTEM IS SURVIVING ON A 1960s ELECTRICITY GRID.

…but we all know this. I’ve dropped my mic. 🤭

In 2018, when the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) was conceived, I was only just beginning my career in power systems.

By 2020, during the pandemic, I was too was working on a dream to build a tech solution to solve another one of the many problems African markets face (sorry for another post).

It’s 2026, and businesses we watched launch are folding up before our eyes. Yes, businesses fail. There are issues with funding, business models, execution and markets.

Maybe the question isn’t only why African startups are failing. Maybe we also need to ask how can systems truly succeed on infrastructure still in the past?

NOG Energy 2026

On Thursday, I had the pleasure of moderating a panel with leaders from the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Transafam Power, and Siemens Energy on the future of Africa's power markets for reliable energy systems.

What stood out was hearing true #energymix ; grid upgrades, gas to power procurement, and distributed electrification discussed as ancillary - not competing - solutions. That's exactly the mindset Africa power markets like Nigeria needs. A reliable, affordable, and cleaner power system will depend on an integrated energy mix.

✨ Engr. Vincent Ozoude, Managing Director and CEO of Transafam Power Limited
✨Mr. Seun Suleiman, Managing Director of Siemens Energy Nigeria
✨Mr. Abba Abubakar Aliyu, MD and CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency

Congratulations to the REA, the teams advancing the Presidential Power Initiative lead by Siemens Energy, and the wider power sector on the progress being made. It was a privilege to moderate such an important conversation.

LATE POST

A few weeks ago, I got to attend the largest awards show for African film and media - the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (#AMVCAs). As someone who loves film, this experience was very special. Lately, I’ve been intentionally watching more African productions, a significant portion of which are Nigerian or directed by. From Canada to Africa, I’ve been taking in conversations around financing, infrastructure, and distribution.

But it would be a waste not to put my career hat on and question how Nigeria responds to energy consumption in production, waste in media, waste in film, and waste in entertainment overall.

Did you know Nigeria imports plywood used in almost all entertainment production - but a sideby - Nigeria imports $18m USD annually on toothpicks! 😭
Anyways, it really makes you think about the impact our beloved entertainment industry has on local communities and supply chains.

On my Substack, I shared why I got into film, sneak into what I hope to do within the industry, and why entertainment community still has very visible gaps that need to be addressed.

I delivered my first TEDx at 27.

In 2021, we had just come out of COVID restrictions when I received an email saying that 2021 Oghosa had been recognised and selected to be part of #TEDCountdown. 2021 marked the beginning of what has grown into a global campaign, with thousands more people lending their voices to climate action, system resilience, and sustainable futures. Big shout out to @tedxphcity @tedx_official 💚

2026 marks 7 years of being a full-time energy sector professional. What I know now isn’t close to a fraction of what I knew in 2021 but what was always strong and evident was my voice to systems and thought leadership.

Before brand identity became a buzzword and artificial intelligence changed our lives, there was once a girl who would read national and global reports cover to cover to spark dialogue on climate action and sustainable energy systems. Ohhh I miss the time and liberty 🫢

That girl has grown—a lot—and I remain grateful for the people who, even before I knew what lay ahead, believed in where I was going.

And to everyone still figuring it out at 27, 37 or 47 man and woman - here's the clichéd part .....remain authentic in who you are and keeping showing up - the paths made for you will always shine a light to guide you.

Bruhh someone call @coldplay iykyk 🙂‍↕️🫶🏾

Do you remember one big achievement you had at 27 ? If you're not 27 yet - what do you look forward to? by @thecarbonbuddy
