Therapy can be a great (and quite painful) discovery of the ways we thought we needed to ‘be’ in order to make it through life.

‘If I’m not stubborn, no one will ever hear or cede to my opinion’. A deep pain of not being considered or listened to.

‘If I withdraw first, they can’t hurt me’. A deep fear of being left, open hearted, raw, and alone.

‘I’ll be perfectly on time, so I can never be accused of being disrespectful’. A core belief that love is something we must earn, and nothing ever suffices.

In realizing our own blindspots, we are invited to change the parts of us that have often times become the gravitational centres of our lives.

We can disentangle ourselves from perfectionism, although we run the risk of not being loved by those who perpetually need proof that we love them.

We can relinquish our stubbornness, and come into new relationships learning how to communicate in a way we never had the opportunity to.

We can stay in uncertainty, knowing that leaving early hurts us just as much as it pains others.

⁨ שבועיים של מלחמה. אזעקות, מקלטים, סקרולים אינסופיים בחדשות. הגוף כבר לא יודע מה זה “רגיל”. הוא תקוע על מוכן.

יש תרגיל אחד פשוט שעוזר בתקופה כזו. נשימת קופסה.

ככה עושים את זה:
שאיפה דרך האף - 4 שניות
עצירה - 4 שניות
נשיפה - 4 שניות
עצירה - 4 שניות
חוזרים על זה 4 דקות.

בעצם אומרים למערכת העצבית: אנחנו פה. עכשיו. לא בטלגרם, לא בסירנה הבאה, לא במה שיקרה מחר. פה.

בין אזעקה לאזעקה. בלילה כשהראש לא מוכן לישון. לפני שפותחים את האפליקציה של החדשות בפעם החמישית באותה שעה.
