We’re excited to welcome Pranjal “PJ” Srivastava to The Conservation Angler as our newest Ambassador.
PJ’s steelhead journey has taken him from Northern California to Oregon’s North Umpqua and north to British Columbia. Along the way, steelhead became about much more than catching fish. They became a connection to wild rivers, wild places, and the people who care about them.
“I met PJ on the Babine, and his enthusiasm for steelhead and the natural world was immediately apparent,” said TCA President John McMillan. “He brings a real sense of wonder to the river. I look forward to channeling that passion into our work to learn more about wild steelhead and protect the places they depend on.”
For PJ, joining TCA is also about giving something back.
“I think of the outdoors as my religion and the river as my temple. I’m joining TCA to give something back to these rivers. The more diverse the people who fish for steelhead, the more voices we have for these fish.”
As a TCA Ambassador, PJ will support our work in Oregon, help bring new voices into wild fish conservation, and contribute to our growing effort to connect anglers with science across the Pacific Rim.
Welcome to TCA, PJ!

This beautiful steelhead, caught a number of years ago in Kamchatka, was tagged, measured, and admired before being released back into the river.

“Every fish caught becomes a source of information, transforming a single encounter into the knowledge needed to protect an entire population. A steelhead becomes more than a moment on the end of a line. It becomes part of a living population with a history, a diversity, and a future worth protecting.”

As many anglers know, steelhead can be hard to find. This is why our work and research rely so much on guides and anglers, who share information and data with the scientists on our team. Learn more at the link in our bio.
