Every creative begins somewhere, and for me, it started with realising the 9–5 path wasn’t mine.

I grew up in a supportive, entrepreneurial family, but outside that bubble the message was different:

“Pick a back-up.”

“Get a real job.”

So I did the responsible thing… and ignored my creativity for years.

Everything changed when I bought a $260 second-hand camera to photograph my mum’s studio — and accidentally launched the career that now takes me across Australia and overseas.

My creative skills became my freedom, and now I’m here to help you build yours.

This space is for the multi-creative, the returning creative, the quietly ambitious creative — anyone ready to build a creative life and business on their terms.

Which creative season are you in?
✨ Just beginning
🌿 Returning after a break

🔥 Building something big

We have big things planned, I can’t wait to share them with you!

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed trying to learn photography online, you’re not alone.

Most people start by doing exactly what I did in 2020-2021: watching endless YouTube videos, Googling settings, trying things, getting frustrated, trying again.

It can take years of trial and error to piece everything together.

That’s exactly why I created Small Business Photography.

Inside this course, I’ve condensed six years of learning and professional experience into six clear modules that walk you through:

• Understanding your DSLR or mirrorless camera
• The camera settings that actually matter
• Photographing products, people, food and interiors
• Capturing shops, venues and landscapes
• Editing your photos easily in Lightroom
• Sharing your work strategically online

Whether you’re a small business owner wanting to create your own imagery, or someone exploring photography more seriously, this course gives you the foundations and confidence to start capturing beautiful images.

And because it’s launch week, there are a few early bird bonuses available until Monday:

• 20% off the course
• My entire Lightroom preset collection (valued at $250+ AUD)
• A 1:1 coaching session with me (valued at $480 AUD)

If you’d like the enrolment link, just comment or DM ‘CAMERA’ and I’ll personally send it through to you 🤍 or head over to to our profile for the link.

(If you’re on the fence or think you’ll wait for the next discount - we’re NEVER running a sale on it again & it’s going into $USD later this year, so this is the lowest price it’ll ever be!)

—

The course includes 6 modules, 40+ lessons, a 125+ page workbook, swipe files and presets — and lifetime access so you can learn at your own pace, along with monthly group coaching.

Doors are now open ✨

The Photographer’s Blueprint was built around years of questions and conversations with photographers who reached out in my DMs feeling unsure, burnt out, overwhelmed, or not feeling like there was any kind of business blueprint they could adapt to their own life.

It grew from watching talented creatives follow every ‘six-figure formula’ or shiny promise on Instagram they could find, only to end up building businesses that looked successful on the outside but didn’t actually feel sustainable behind the scenes.

And every time another photographer downloaded one of my price guides hoping it would magically solve their pricing, I realised the same thing.

The problem was never the numbers, or their talent.

It was everything that came before and around it.

The confidence to know what they’re actually worth and charge accordingly, the boundaries to uphold them, the positioning to own them.

But as I kept building, I realised it went SO much deeper than that.

That in order how to understand what to charge, and how to get more bookings, and how to get published, there was a wealth of deeper knowledge needed to build a sustainable career in this industry long term.

That’s the gap Blueprint was built to fill.

It became so much more than another course.

It became the career curriculum I wish had existed when I started.

And today, it’s finally yours. 🤎 We’ve been so thrilled to welcome in our first students this morning, and there’s a few spots left at the Founding Cohort rate of $544 before it goes back up to $680 - check the slides for more info!

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to build the photography business you’ve always dreamed of…

This is it.

Comment or DM me BLUEPRINT and I’ll personally send you the enrolment link. Georgie 🤎

Anyone who knows me well, knows how much I love a quote or a good saying. Here are some of my favourites I’ve picked up over the years, some originals, some appropriated sayings where there wasn’t a clear source. Save for when you need a bit of creative courage. Georgie x

I thought I had fallen out of love with photography.

That perhaps I resented it.

That one nuclear explosion of a misaligned client that turned into a ‘nightmare client’ meant I should throw everything away, and send myself into a self-imposed creative exile.

But the thing is … I’d fallen out of love with the version of the photography business I thought I was ‘supposed’ to build.

I’d followed every bit of ‘six-figure photography business’ advice — which was pretty much just slap ‘luxury’ on everything, charge more, book more weddings, the customer is always right, cool photographers are living off coffee and editing at 2am, and the client is the main character of your life.

And then I hit the deep, deep depths of burnout. I’d lost all my confidence after that badly matched client, I had given into every inch of people pleasing this industry promotes … and I stared up from the bottom of that hole, and went …. ‘This isn’t me.’

I had to ask myself: What do I ACTUALLY want my creative life to look like?

And when I started answering that question honestly, when I considered my personality, what actually ignited me, the people who clicked with me, the work I really wanted, I made the commitment to shift. To save my business.

I got super clear on my Creative Signature, my language.

The archetypes I wanted to lean into.

I said yes to the opportunities I could leverage.

I started saying NO to over giving, to always donating and discounting out of the goodness of my heart because ‘she’s so nice, she’ll do it for less’.

I stepped away from the types of photography that no longer aligned with me, and leaned harder into the ones I loved.

I started treating all the different parts of my creative career as strengths instead of evidence that I wasn’t focused enough.

And perhaps most importantly, I stopped building my business around what other photographers told me was working for them.

I don’t think most photographers need another person on the internet telling them exactly what their business should look like.

I think they need the knowledge, tools and confidence to make those decisions for themselves.

Focus on the skills that compound, that are transferable and adaptable in the real world. Because by the time someone is teaching you the trend … it’s already passed.

You can’t copy someone else’s exact circumstances, and expect their exact outcome.

‘I started from $0 and made almost $1 million.’

‘I started Instagram 30 days ago and now I have 80k followers.’

They’re incredible numbers, and yes, they show us what’s possible.

But possible ≠ probable.

The problem starts when an outlier outcome is packaged up & sold as a repeatable formula, because you don’t know:

💰 What that revenue looked like after expenses, ads, contractors, tax and overheads. Or whether someone leveraged an existing Instagram account with thousands of followers to ‘grow fast’ or even run ads or boost posts (it’s pay to play now, after all!).

⏰ Whether they entered the market at exactly the right time & benefited from a trend or opportunity that may no longer exist.

🎰 How much luck, virality or existing influence contributed to the result.

🫶 Or how much a parasocial relationship makes you place yourself inside their success story: ‘If they did it, maybe this could be me.’

That hope is so powerful, but it can also distort our perception of what a successful creative business actually looks like … until making an extra $1000 this month somehow feels insignificant next to someone else’s whopping six-figure launch.

So, what should you invest in then?

In my opinion, nearly 7 years away from a 9-5, as a small business owner & full time creative?

Skills that compound.

Learn how to price properly, sell & market on and OFF social media, pitch yourself, improve your processional communications, create products and offerings with strategy, build relationships, understand your numbers, build stronger customer/client/industry relationships, and adapt when the market changes.

There may never be a magic strategy that guarantees you an extraordinary outcome, but there are skills that can help you build an extraordinary career on your terms.

Creative business skills for the real world.

Comparison fatigue and big numbers would have you believe you’re failing.

That you’re just one strategy or someone’s secret sauce away from cracking it.

So you think, ‘If they can go viral and make hundreds of thousands of dollars, if they can wake up one morning with tens of thousands of new followers … and they’re a regular person, they feel like my internet friend … the. surely I can do it too? I just need to figure out their special ingredient!’

But what if there is no special ingredient that can magically be transferred into your business for the same explosive success?

And many of honest biz-fluencers with these success stories will tell you there’s no such thing as an overnight success.

But we’re all so mesmerised by the money on the table that we don’t hear it.

You’re already thinking about what it will feel like to pay off your mortgage, to take your family on that holiday, to retire your spouse …

What if you’re comparing your very real business to someone’s extraordinary & nearly-impossible-to-identically-replicate-outlier, because you WANT it to be true?

Are we building sustainable, aligned businesses anymore, or just placing bets in the social media casino? You tell me.

Parasocial relationships are a super clever strategy for personal brands, but it’s also important for the purchaser, the customer, to understand how these work & why they influence buying decisions 🤎 is the product right for YOU in your unique life & business, or is it a bit of the lottery affect that drew you in — a vanity number, an aspirational lifestyle, that made you want to place yourself inside their story? by @thecreativestoolkit
