Hello my name is Mercy Aloo, I am from Nairobi, Kenya and I am a cup user, I have been using the cup for eight years since I was in form three. When people from The Cup Foundation and Lunette visited my school in 2016, I saw it as a big break for me since I could not afford sanitary towels. There and then I started using the cup and I loved my experience with it, at first I was scared but as I continuously used it I fell in love with it. Having the cup enabled me to be in school more and even while in college I had no struggle since I had my cup with me. It’s has been eight years since I got my first cup and it has since been my friend since it comes in handy. I still love the cup and feel period is cool. Lunette is celebrating Menstrual Hygiene Day with every woman and girl in mind.

When it comes to menstrual hygiene, education is power, and Lunette is determined to give every woman the knowledge and resources they need to have a healthy period.

At Lunette, we believe that no woman or girl should be ashamed of their period or let it hold them back and get the chance to aspire to become what they dream of. To do so they need their basic wellbeing rights met first and foremost. To combat the stigma surrounding menstruation, we are determined to make periods a regular topic of discussion to really make a difference to every woman and girl across the world.
