At The Edge Of The Water. 🌊

Now on view at The Current: ECCHO, At The Edge Of The Water brings together artistic practices that consider water as both a living force and a cultural archive—shaping our landscapes, histories, communities, and sense of belonging.

Presented in collaboration with Baha Mar’s Conservation & Sustainability team as part of Bahamas Climate Week, the exhibition reflects on our relationship with the marine environments that surround and sustain us, and the ways environmental change reverberates through culture, ecology, memory, and identity.

Across the gallery, works spanning varied materials, images, stories, and forms invite us to consider water not simply as a resource, but as a threshold—a space of vulnerability and resilience, loss and renewal, connection and transformation.

Visit The Current: ECCHO at Baha Mar to experience At The Edge Of The Water, now on view through November and free to the public.

Please note that ECCHO occasionally hosts private events and may be temporarily closed to visitors. We recommend contacting The Current ahead of your visit to confirm gallery access.

Now on view: Empathy as a Birthing Place — a group exhibition featuring works by Max Taylor, Heino Schmid, Cydne Jasmin Coleby, and Matthew David Ramming.

Centering the Bahamian woman as an icon of Bahamian society, the exhibition explores motherhood, migration, identity, resilience, and possibility through modern and contemporary Bahamian printmaking and drawing. Together, the works reflect on the interconnected social, cultural, and environmental realities that shape women’s experiences in The Bahamas, and the empathy that emerges through witnessing these stories.

Visit The Suite at The Current: ECCHO to experience Empathy as a Birthing Place, on view through December 27, 2026. Admission is free and open to the public—stop by during our operating hours.

IN THE PRESS | At The Edge Of The Water 🌊

Thank you to The Tribune and Ava Turnquest for spotlighting At The Edge Of The Water, our latest exhibition at The Current: ECCHO, presented in partnership with Baha Mar Conservation & Sustainability as part of Bahamas Climate Week.

Titled “Exploring Memory, Loss, and Renewal,” the feature explores how 24 Bahamian and international artists examine our changing relationship with the natural environment through themes of memory, loss, and renewal.

Through diverse artistic perspectives, the exhibition invites us to look beyond the picturesque beauty of our landscapes and consider the environmental realities, cultural histories, and collective responsibilities they hold.

Read the full feature in The Tribune, published October 2, 2026.

For Bahamas Climate Week, I had the pleasure of curating a lineup of gifted artists to perform in the ECCHO space.

Inspired by a dream of a spacecraft landing in my front yard, we used to soundscapes to transport the audience through time, and opening a portal to a future that was bright. Each act represented an aspect of Caribbean culture, Bahamian culture that came together to cement the importance of Caribbean resilience.

Thank you to everyone that attended the event, the performers and my team that made this event happen and to the conservation team at Baha Mar along with their partners for inviting me to give new meaning inside the space. by @thecurrenteccho

What a night. 🌊🎙️✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for Poetry for the Natural World at The Current: ECCHO.

The energy in the room was truly special — an evening filled with powerful words, inspiring performances, music, laughter, and community. A special thank you to each of our poets and performers for sharing your voices, stories, and creativity with us. You made the evening what it was. 💙

Set within At The Edge Of The Water, the night reminded us of the many ways art can bring us together and deepen our connection to the natural world and to one another.

Thank you for showing up, sharing space, and making it such a beautiful closing celebration. Until next time. 🌊
