On my seventh birthday, I received my first gift.
A few moments later, I also received my first lesson about worth.
One stayed with me far longer than the other.

For years, I believed worth was something other people measured.
Their opinions became my mirror.
Their words became my limits.

Many women spend their lives asking for permission.
Permission to speak.
Permission to lead.
Permission to want more.
Permission to be seen.

Then one day, something shifts.
You stop negotiating your value.
You stop shrinking your voice.
You stop waiting.

AUKAATH is not confidence.
It is not arrogance.
It is the moment you realize your worth existed long before anyone acknowledged it.

AUKAATH is not a book about success.
It is a book about self-worth.
About identity.
About becoming.
About taking the pen back and writing your own value.

This book was written between school runs, unfinished chores, self-doubt, rejection, and ordinary days.
Not because life became easier.
Because the story became impossible to ignore.

Impossible to leave behind.

AUKAATH: The Voice of Becoming.

For every woman who was handed a version of herself she never chose.

Follow @thediaryoffathima for more stories on self-worth, growth, faith, motherhood, and becoming.

And tell me:
What is one belief about yourself that you're finally learning to let go of?

I don't work 14-hour days. I work three sessions.

Early morning. Late morning. Early afternoon.
Built around school mornings and family afternoons.

That's how I'm building a studio, writing a book and serving clients from home.

The secret is guarding the few hours you have like they're the best ones.

Try this tomorrow:
Choose one block of time.
Put it in your calendar like a client meeting.
Use it for the work only you can do. Strategy. Writing. The decision you keep postponing.

One protected hour beats a full day of scattered ones.

What time of day does your best thinking happen? Tell me below.

Ek formula jo kisi ne humein nahi sikhaya.

We get paid for bringing value to the marketplace. Aur value ke do hisse hain:
1. The value you BRING. Aapki service, aapka product.
2. The value you BECOME. Aap ek leader, thinker aur decision-maker ke roop mein kaun ho.

Jim Rohn said what you become pays much more than what you bring.

Hum Muslim auratein value laane mein experts hain. Ghar ke liye, family ke liye, doosron ke naam ke liye. But becoming? Woh humein selfish lagta hai.

A one-person business is the value you've become, packaged so people can find you:
Skill. Story. System.

Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves. (Surah Ar-Ra'd, 13:11)

Homework: notebook mein likho. What do I bring? Main kya ban rahi hoon? Phir is hafte doosri line ko ek ghanta do.

Save this for your next planning day. Aur us sister ko bhejo jo sabke liye value laati hai, bas apne liye nahi.

I share my book's thinking every week in The Aukaath Letters. Link in bio.

The mistake everyone makes about you...

"Jo main dekhti hoon, wahi sach hai."
Psychologists call it naive realism. Hum sab yeh karte hain.

Warangal traffic mein: fast wala pagal, slow wala so raha hai, aur main perfect.

Yahi hota hai jab ek hijabi woman leadership meeting mein aati hai. Ya jab ek mother career break ke baad wapas aati hai. People see their own lens and they're sure it's the truth.

Unka lens aap nahi badal sakti. Lekin saboot de sakti ho. Every post where you explain a decision is proof.

Aur apna lens bhi check karo. ""Main itni expert nahi hoon"" bhi bas ek lens hai. Usually the harshest one.

Your aukaath. Itni saaf dikhe ki kisi ko guess na karna pade.

I write about this every week in The Voice of Becoming. Humara newsletter. Chalo jldi se subscribe karo. Link in bio.

You want to be seen for your work.

You don't want your private life on display.

Good news. You don't have to choose.

Every senior woman already tells stories. In board updates. In promotion talks. When she explains a hard call to her team.
The story isn't the problem. The shape is.

Here are 5 story shapes for women leaders, and what each one lets you keep private:

1. Before → After → Bridge
For a change you led. Keep private: names and numbers.

2. Challenge → Choice → Outcome
To show your judgement. Start with this one. Keep private: the client and the deal.

3. Setup → Conflict → Resolution
For a case study, step by step. Keep private: anything that could identify the organisation.

4. Context → But → Therefore
For the update nobody reads. Keep private: the internal details. Keep the lesson.

5. Once → Every day → Until
To build trust before you ask for anything. Keep private: everything except one honest moment.

The rule: decide what stays private first. Then pick the shape.

Try this today.
Rewrite your last work update as Context → But → Therefore.
Three lines. See which version you'd stop scrolling for.

Save this for your next post. Send it to the sister who keeps saying "I'll post when I'm ready.

Day 3 of 100 — The Istiqama Protocol
(Mistaked as day 4)

October to December is my Winter Arc.

Not a season for doing everything.
A season for becoming consistent with what matters.

Niyyah. One clear intention.
Amal. One small action every day.
Muhasabah. Check in. Adjust. Continue.

No dramatic transformation.
No waiting for motivation.

Just 90 days of showing up.

What you sow this winter can become what you live next year. 🌱

October → December.
Small steps. Steady work. Istiqamah.

If you're doing your own Winter Arc, tell me what you're building.

Dreams don’t die when life gets difficult. They go quiet.

Sometimes you pause because life asks you to survive.

You choose your family. You lose momentum. You question yourself.

You tell yourself, “Maybe it’s too late.”

But when a dream is tied to something deeper....your purpose, your contribution, the person you know you’re meant to become...it has a way of finding you again.

Maybe restarting isn’t going backwards.
Maybe it’s finally returning to yourself.

Day 2 of 100.
My reason to restart.

Because I don’t want to just achieve a dream.
I want to become the woman who was capable of carrying it.

Your title has an expiry date. Your name doesn't.

Every senior woman I speak with carries this fear.

Few of them say it out loud.

Restructuring is fast. AI is faster.

A designation you spent fifteen years earning can change in one email.

What stays with you is what people know you for.

Your judgement. Your way of thinking. The problems people bring to your desk.

Your homework:
Write three things people come to you for.

Leave your job title out of it.

If you get stuck at one, you're not behind. You're just starting at the right place.

Want help finding your three? DM me NAME.

If I had to build my LinkedIn from scratch today, I’d do these 7 things:

01 — Pick one thing to be known for.
Not everything I know. One clear area of expertise.

02 — Turn my experience into content.
Lessons, opinions, stories, frameworks and things I’ve learnt from doing the work.

03 — Repeat my core ideas.
I’d explore the same theme from different angles until people knew what I stood for.

04 — Build relationships, not just reach.
I’d spend time talking to the people I want to learn from, work with and serve.

05 — Show how I think.
Not just what I do but how I approach problems and why I see them differently.

06 — Create a body of work.
So someone discovering me months later could understand my expertise without needing an introduction.

07 — Build somewhere I own.
An email list, newsletter or community where people can stay connected beyond LinkedIn.

That’s what I’d focus on before worrying about followers.

If you’re starting from scratch and don’t know what your LinkedIn should be built around, DM me “VOICE”.

There comes a point when you have to stop waiting to feel ready and start listening to yourself again.

You have to choose to become her.

The woman with something to say.
The woman who trusts what she knows.
The woman who gives her ideas a life beyond herself.

Because no one’s coming to save you.
You have to choose yourself.

Give your ideas, experiences and stories somewhere to go.

Make space for the voice you’ve been putting aside.

Becoming her begins when you decide to show up for her.
