First ever session targeting a shore-caught Tope... and this happens! 🦈💥

I headed out to Wales with a good friend Brad from South Lakeland Angling Centre hoping to christen my new reel with a decent fish. But I definitely didn’t expect to land a 34lb tope! 🤯

Massive shoutout to Brad. The lad is an absolute master and his knowledge made this capture happen. After hitting the mark at first light, and fishing through after toying with the idea of a move, the persistence paid off.

When this thing went, it was proper screaming runs! Luckily, it calmed down just long enough for a quick photo before going back. 📸

Multiple other fish caught including a near double figure Bull Huss, Gurnard, Bass, Pollock, Mackeral and Conger Eel.. Awesome!!🎯

Great laugh and all round perfect trip!

Cheers again, Brad! What a session. 🙌🏽

Braved the storm and managed this absolute pig!!💪🏽🐊

After blanking an entire session in brutal storm conditions, I gave it another go — and it was shaping up exactly the same. No signs, no confidence, another blank on the cards!

But a change in tactics, fishing at distance, dropping into deeper water and switching the presentation completely turned it around. Out of nowhere, this absolute beast made it all worthwhile💥💪🏽🐊

What an EPIC Trip!🎯💪🏽

Met up with a good friend Brad, from South Lakeland Angling Centre for a much-anticipated fishing trip, targeting Common Skate in the Highlands. Honestly, the man is a wizard. I genuinely admire his tactical awareness and ability to adapt—he gave me a masterclass on how to target this awesome species.
After reaching the mark and getting the baits deep. Weather looking well in our favour, it wasn’t long before the action unfolded. Within an hour, my rod was arcing over and we were into something massive. With Brad’s guidance on how to tame these giants, I got to work. After 45 minutes of pure endurance and pain, we finally got her to the surface: a female estimated at 170lbs+!💪🏽🎯
To top it off, Brad smashed it with a male estimated at 110lbs+. So much time, energy and tightly crossed fingers went into this trip, but getting onto fish like that made every second worth it. Huge thanks to Brad for the incredible experience! 🙌🏽

Capturing nature doing what it does best...📸👀

Atlantic Salmon running up the River Kent👏🏽

After an extreme prolonged period of drought, a good lift and high tide has finally meant the Salmon can get on their way.

In a 20 minute window, around 10 different Salmon attempted the pass which is awesome to see. Still could do with a little more rain yet but good to know they’re about!👀📸

Only have the videos from my phone camera at the moment, proper footage will come soon📸

That’s Ballan Wrasse off the list🎯📸

Been after one of these beauty’s a while now, what a stunning fish they are. They pack a real punch too, trying to bully you back into the rocky snags that they reside! Real good fun on the light gear💪🏽🎣

Managed to get a trip back to Wales and had a great time rock hopping. Caught a few species like this Wrasse, as well as Pollock and Mackerel.

Using the @riggedandreadyrods Predator Max, top tier for keeping mobile and compact on the rocks, as well as slinging a wide range of lures!

Great fun as always, cheers for the class photos Brad!📸

First Hound and it’s gone double figures! 💪🏽📸🦈

Reading the forecasts I would have stayed at home and kicked my feet up... Wind in your face, wet, and not ideal tides. But wanting to get out and just give it a bash, we went for it!

Myself and Brad were keen for a Bass at this point, not too sure if hounds could be lurking around with such a big chuck needed. But we were straight into action from the off! After a couple of smaller hounds, I had a real screaming bite and it turned out to be this double-figure Smoothhound! A real stunning creature at that💪🏽🦈

Had another fish shortly after that could have gone over double figures again but sadly lost it… just shows it’s always worth turning up!

A Real Pig of a Brown Trout📸🔥

This absolute cracker came up on my memories today, and it made me see why I put all the hours into River Fishing.. because wild Specimens like this can make your year instantly..
Was out after Salmon fishing a Rapala and get brownies as bycatch a lot, but this one was as good as a Salmon in my eyes.. those distinct spots, buttery golden belly and pink hues.. a picture perfect Brown Trout… All 6lbs of it🔥

A day on the River I won’t forget for a long while👌🏽

These Wild Browns are just stunning👌🏽😍

Just as the light was fading, fished my last pool of the evening and this absolute stunner brownie, stuck eyes on my CD Rapala. Missing its first swipe right under my feet. A few light jigs of the lure and bang! 💥

The colouration on these trout are unmatched.

Well worth getting back down on the River after a break from fishing! One way of getting my drive back💪🏽🔥

When that Sun starts dropping, the Crocs come out to play!🔥

This beasty of a Lake District Pike took a liking to my Miuras Mouse.. fishing it parallel to a band of weed with a slow jerk and wind.. and BANG! Came up and smashed it without hesitation.. The fish was absolutely immaculate and full of power! Awesome colouration📸

My favourite Fish release to date!🎣🔥

For such a huge fish they glide back effortlessly into the depths... a creature you don’t fully appreciate until seeing them in the flesh! They are surreal.🤯

This Large Male Common Skate was only around 110lbs, but these beasts are absolute powerhouses and not an easy fish to catch. They can grow to well over 200lbs—the largest of all Skate species.

On this trip myself and Brad managed to catch 2, with the biggest being over 170lbs...🎯

Will definitely be having another crack at them!🎣

Nothing beats watching a Salmon smash a lure right in front of you!👀🔥

River dropped after a spate, so I tied on a tiny black Flying C-when nothing else works, these always deliver! 💯

Just a quick net view before safely returning it back to the river.

Another good day out in the Lake District on a real gem of a water.. oh and some nice perch to go with it!📸

No monsters but getting onto some larger fish day by day! Fishing small soft plastics and drop shot tactics today, was very quiet until that light started to drop and it came to life..
Fish after fish but still nothing quite of any size.. then two nice ones visited the net around 35cm each🎯
Never put much time into perch fishing so I’m happy with the progress! Just waiting on the 40+cm🎯🤞

The wildlife was on point too! 👀
Perch taking line and giving a good scrap on Rigged and Ready Fish Rig 180 and Rr100 and with a fair walk to the swim I was glad I could fish ultra light💪🏽
