In honor of graduation season, here’s a throwback to mine, on this very day two years ago. God knew what I would go through to accomplish this goal. I was an incoming freshman and fashion design major at age 21 (2012). Although I was having the time of my life on campus, I was also insecure and sad dealing with hair loss. I didn’t look like the other girls and didn’t know if I would fit in. But God blessed me to meet some new friends along the way. Near the end of the school year, some extenuating circumstances occurred causing me to move back home. A while later, it was revealed why I had to come back. Within that timeframe, my alopecia story was released (2016, age 25) and my purpose was birthed. Overtime, trying to finish my education became a challenge. I had numerous setbacks, financial difficulties, disappointments, moments that broke my heart - I didn’t think that I would ever see my graduation day. But God. 🥲🙏🏾

I went back to school at age 30 (2021), earning scholarships and grants along the way. God blessed me to graduate with my Bachelor of Science at age 33, earning a partnership with @jostensinc and featured on the WMU alumni website. I pray that my testimony inspires and encourages someone who thinks it’s impossible to finish their degree. It’s never too late, no matter your age or how long it’s been. Apply to that program again, don’t let your circumstances stop you. God will place you exactly where you need to be. Life is not a competition, either. Put everything before God and leave it there. Believe that He will make a way and open the door for you to finish your education. If He did it for me, He can surely do it for you. C/O ‘24 🤎💛

Hey everybody! It’s ME! 😉🤎✨

Thank you for following my new page. I just turned 34 on 11/6 🎂, a new year of life means new beginnings. The Lord is up to something and I’m looking forward to what’s in store.
I know that a lot of you were asking and wondering why I’ve deleted my old IG. There’s nothing wrong, I’m simply starting over with the Lord and I feel so refreshed.

But let’s talk about November for just a moment. Tbh; I didn’t enjoy this month. I’ve been through a lot since the first. I was sick on my birthday and spent 2 weeks recovering, so plans were cancelled. Also, grieving the loss of a friend/classmate, who passed on my birthday 2 years ago. Plus losing another classmate last week. Grief is something else. 💔

Growing up, I looked forward to my birthdays. Now, this time of the year drains me. But despite what occurs, I’m always grateful to see another year of life.
God is blessing me to find new reasons to smile.

What brightened my day the most was all of the love shown. THANK YOU for your lovely birthday posts, messages, and texts. I’ve been through a lot this year, but God also blessed me to accomplish a lot. That’s definitely worth celebrating. 😊🩷🎂🎈🎉

I hope that everyone has a good holiday season. See you soon.

The Silver Lining 👩🏾‍🦲👑

One of the blessings I’ve discovered while having Alopecia; is the ability to switch up my look anytime I’d like. There is beauty and power in versatility. People talk about me whether I wear wigs or not, but how they feel is not my issue. Whenever I decide to wear wigs, that doesn’t mean I’m “hiding” something or “ashamed” of my bald look. While some people mean well, I find these statements problematic because you don’t know where a person is on their hair loss journey. It’s important to support others where they are, without the extra suggestions and comments. It’s not about what they think, it’s about how I feel and what works for me.

Bottom line, you can’t please everyone.
