on record: the industry eats its own, an interview with @qrtrmusic | On making art inside a system that devours it – and taking action against it

I met Meagan this past summer when I felt a pull to write more honestly about the electronic music industry I love, driven by a curiosity to learn more about the lives, stories, and horror clips shared by those actually living inside it. After a couple of imported beers, a pack of Marlboro Reds, and a few tarot readings later, I felt connected to her story, vision, and energy in a way that left me wanting more — and I have a feeling this conversation will do the same for you.

Editorial is now live via the link in my bio 💫

Welcome to the inside of my brain — where horror meets self-help, fashion meets feelings, and the plot twist is always chaotic.

I created my Substack because I wanted a space that feels hot & cold at the same time. A place where you never know what you’re about to read, but you know you’re about to feel something. A place where honesty isn’t filtered out like it is everywhere else.

My newest piece is an exploration on patterns that no longer serve me and what I’m actually wanting to manifest for the year ahead. The call was coming from inside my attachment style… so I wrote about it.

And thank you to my friends & family who have been supporting my dumpster fire/ creative project from the jump- I owe you my life. 💫 taken in Seattle, Washington by @theeditbyhal

A warm welcome to our new instructor, Haley! @theeditbyhal

Haley first discovered Pilates while recovering from a work-related back injury in Chicago. What began as a form of rehabilitation soon became a lifelong passion. After six years of dedicated practice, she began her teacher training under Ellie Herman in Philadelphia in early 2025. Haley loves how dynamic and playful Pilates can be—from the rhythm of the movements to the uplifting energy it brings to every class. To her, Pilates is about more than just strength and balance—it’s about joy, connection, and feeling at home in your body. She’s thrilled to share that positive energy with our community at Aya Pilates. by @theeditbyhal
