#artvsartist2025 - This was a great and brave year - forst time NMM, first time entering a painting competition and just connecting to so many great people on here :) Cant wait for the next year honestly - there are a lot of great minis in my cabinets, waiting for some color! Thanks for all your support!

Even tho i did not manage to place im my category at the @mithrilbrush painting competition, i just learned that i got the "Best Critter Award" - or rather the birdfriend of the witch king did ;-)
This really made my day! I love including animals in my bases - and the vulture really was a great fit to bring this model a bit more to life. Everyone needs a friend, even a Nazgul. He's just a little guy, after all!
Also - a lot more to come in the future, given that my Ent bases are loaded with critters :)

In 2025, I took part in the Mithrilbrush Painting Competition with this entry. Even though I didn’t achieve a placement, I would wholeheartedly encourage everyone to participate. It was an amazing experience that pushed me to try new things and really tested my own limits as a painter.

As Bilbo Baggins once said, “It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door.” and joining this competition definitely felt like thar — and it was absolutely worth it.

I’m already looking forward to this year’s competition and would like to give a big thank you to Gianluca for organizing the event, as well as to all the judges for their hard work.
Without their time, dedication, and passion, many of the incredible miniatures we’ve seen might never have been brought to life — and their efforts are a true enrichment to the hobby i really love.

I highly recommend checking out all the entries over at @mithrilbrush and the #mithrilbrush hashtag - maybe you will be just as amazed and inspired as I was by everything that was submitted.

My little build for @fantasywelt.de painting competition! Really just waited for a reason for this Saruman Diorama to happen if im honest - and the deadline helps too to get me going! 😅
Seemed appropiate to use a bunch of the stuff i got over the years from their store in this :)

We had a painting competition, yes - but what about a second competition?! #mesbg #paintingcompetition #miniaturepainting #lotrminiatures #lordoftherings by @theelectorcount

Quick and speedy paintjob on Uglúk! Mr. Looks like meat is back on the menu boys! His facesculpt was really doughey wich made it a paint to paint - calling it done!

And with that, this years entry for @mithrilbrush online painting competition is done! The moment i saw this sculpt right from my childhood playing Battle for Middle Earth - Rise of the witch king on Reddit i knew i had to make it my miniature for this years entry. I wish i could have taken more time - but life was busy as of late and im happy with it. I really start to enjoy the sloppy, messy venture into Non metallic metal - failing upwards as it goes :) Also: Birb on Base so just gimme gold, common! ;) by @theelectorcount

Old Shelob model build and put on size updated base - it was a challenge to pose her but im really happy now - time to basecoat and paint both :) Dont get me wrong, i love the new sculpt, but i still think the old one looks equally awesome - and my mediocre painting skills will even futher put them together!
How do you like it? Are you pro old sculpts or always new if there is one?

"We guard the white tower!" - back when i was a kid, these were the coolest thing you could get in BFME. Damn, it makes me nostalgic painting these. My best and oldest friend @kla.bautermann and i used to fight with sticks as swords, replaying the lord of the rings - he had one of the big tower shields all painted and made from wood. One time, i bashed so hard against it, that it hit him in the head and gave him the biggest bump on his forehead - when he asked if you "could see that i struck him" i just shook my head saying "no" - wich was the biggest understatement in history - but i was just scared shitless we would get in trouble and that the adults would take our weapons away lol. Good times.
Anyway, here are some Citadel Guards and Irolas!

Oh and thanks to my sister @ninjo_ - the new metallic paints you got me are great!
