Inner x Outer Ecology
Reconnecting people to land, lineage & living systems.
Byron Immersion: 24-28th Feb
Puglia Immersion: 19-23rd May
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We created Embodied Ecology to bridge worlds - the one that lives within us and the one outside us. They are not separate, they never have been.

If we’re not taking care of the land, the soil and the trees, we are not taking care of our bodies, our food and how we breathe. They are quite literally the foundations of life.

We are a reflection of the outer. You cannot study one without the other. One of the most important aspects of any new experience is embodiment. We can do thousands of courses, workshops and modalities, but if it’s not integrated in the system, the essence is lost.

We have designed this immersion so that alongside deep diving into how to read the land, tend to it and create food systems, we are also tending to our internal systems that also require nourishment, space, reflection, creativity and movement.

We’re still feeling the rippling effects of the container that was created for our first immersion this year. The abundance of wisdom holders and vibrant meals. The music and dancing as we planted trees. The silence in the mornings to let the learnings steep. The ceremonies that connected us to Country and to each other. What felt really profound though is the group of humans that came together and became family.

We genuinely have limited spots for our next February immersion and they are now live on our website with payment plans to make it super easy and affordable to join us.

We have one scholarship spot - if you’re interested please email us by 30th November, theembodiedecology@gmail.com

Update: NEW DATES: 24th-28th of FEB. I’m hosting the next @theembodiedecology immersion on my land! I made this decision so that guests could also experience the magic of this place and wake up to the incredible bird chorus and swim in the waterholes as I am blessed to do. Last immersion I met the most amazing and aligned souls so I trust this time will be no different. The body work and tea ceremony will be complemented by more somatic therapies this time, you get to experiment the healing power of my bees plus there will be more restorative time soaking up the beauty of the Big Scrub rainforest. It means I will be very busy until then getting everything ready to host everyone - but I can’t think of anything else I would rather do right now. So if you want to immerse yourself in this stunning ecosystem and its abundant biodiversity (wallabies, black cockatoos, echidnas and platypus!) and are seeking a life changing experience that will equip you with the skills to thrive despite all the upcoming uncertainty and chaos (let’s be real, learning how to grow your own food is the most Inportant skill we could learn in these turbulent times) - sign up via the link in the bio. Scholarships available xx by @theembodiedecology

All around the world the majority of our trees have been cleared for farming. So learning how to grow food while reforesting is truly revolutionary - that’s the essence of agroforestry and why I’m so excited to share these teachings with the world. We are so thrilled to welcome back @timogranzotti, @peterwindrim, @nina_karnikowski as teachers with @nomadichands offering massage and @brooke.brash serving tea. I will be teaching embodiment practices throughout the day (aka boogie time) so you can leave the immersion feeling high on life after soaking up the absolute beauty of this endangered subtropical rainforest, The Big Scrub. Spots are limited and we do have a scholarship spot available- so email us if you want to apply. Hope to see you in November, sign up link in bio. Xxx by @theembodiedecology

Ethnoecologist, ecological designer, artist and storyteller. Co-founder of People of the Forest.

Timo Granzotti weaves together ecology, culture, design, and Traditional Ecological Knowledge into living systems rooted in reciprocity and regeneration. Through agroforestry, ethnobotany, whole-systems design, and biocultural education, his work explores the deep relationship between people, land, and community.

From forests to community learning spaces, his teaching invites a reimagining of resilience — not as extraction or control, but as participation within living systems.

Cultivating landscapes that nourish biodiversity, cultural memory, and collective futures.

Sometimes we don’t see the wood for the trees.

What if we’ve been thinking about forests all wrong?

What if the choice isn’t just between exploiting them or protecting them?

What if ‘forest’ is a verb?

These are among the questions explored at @theembodiedecology, the first of a series of immersion events started by actress and activist @natkelley with @timogranzotti @rainbow_regen @richardrhythm @brooke.brash and more.

If you want to learn practical, fungi-based methods for managing invasive species like Camphor Laurels this is for you!
The day will look like this:
☕ A Tea Ceremony with a sprinkle of native mushrooms to open the day
🧠 Deep dives into the theory & practice of Mycoregen
🥗 A nourishing, locally sourced organic lunch
🎶 Sunset + live music to close it all out

Soilmates are the new soulmates💓

In just over 100 years, the ancient Big Scrub — once the largest subtropical rainforest in Australia and part of an ancient Gondwana ecosystem — was almost entirely cleared for timber, dairy, and cattle. It was a devastating loss of biodiversity, habitat, and living systems which had been stewarded by the Bundalung (Widjabul Wia-bal) people for millennia.

Restoring this ecosystem is no small task.
It takes decades, enormous devotion and most importantly COMMUNITY!

And that’s what soilmates are for 💚

This Valentine’s weekend, 15 incredible humans are joining us for @theembodiedecology on Bundjalung Country to begin the replanting process — learning regenerative skills, building food sovereignty, and remembering how to live in right relationship with land.

We will be planting trees, sharing meals, swimming in crisp freshwater creeks, and nourishing ourselves with some of the best organic food in the country by @sage.eventsbyronbay

We honour the Bundjalung people, who have cared for this Country for tens of thousands of years. This work is our small way of giving back — restoring what was taken and tending to what remains.

Also - the amazing @rainbow_regen of @weforestearth will be sharing some of his vast 🍄 knowledge during the course.. I’m beyond excited to share more about his work in the future - harnessing the power of fungi to help the ecosystem restoration process!!

2 last-minute spots are still open if you feel the call to be our soilmate for life 🌿

Also… the pruners and belt clip are officially my new identity now ✂️😅 by @theembodiedecology

When I met @nomadichands last year there was so much synchronicity in our shared dance background and understanding of movement and massage as tools for liberation and healing. Now he is our resident Embodiment facilitator at @theembodiedecology . We are so excited to announce he will offer in somatic movement and massage on the course - starting next Tuesday. Planting trees and getting massaged in between meals of local organic food sounds like my kind of heaven… There’s a still a room remaining if anyone still wants to join and discounted local spots too. 💓✨🌲 by @theembodiedecology

9 days to go until our first @theembodiedecology immersion in the Byron Hinterland (Bundalung Country) 🌲 our lead teacher @timogranzotti has arrived and has already identified over 30 different bird species on the land! We have been planning earthworks, buying shovels, drinking tea and feasting on local organic food at the markets. Yesterday we dropped in on fellow teachers @nina_karnikowski and @peterwindrim and their chickens (so excited for their classes on compost teas and sit spot journaling). And in an exciting new development we are thrilled to announce that @nomadichands will be teaching the embodiment classes and offering massage at the gathering. We still have a few spaces left if you want to join us in paradise. ☀️Link in my bio! 🐝 also thank you to my mum and grandma who are here making sure we are nurtured and nourished by their sweetness 🍯 by @theembodiedecology

What does it mean to be a keystone species?
It means to hold communities together,
to collaborate with natural systems.
It means to help shape, maintain and support biodiversity.
We take on the role of assisting life to flourish.

Embodied Ecology was born from this remembering.
Our lead facilitator, @timogranzotti speaks to this at TEDx URI - on the legacy we are capable of leaving.

In two weeks, we gather on living land for an immersion in regeneration - of landscapes, and of how we meet them.

Over these days, we will work with soil and agroecology, explore living systems and patterns, and engage embodied practices that support nervous system regulation, perception, and relationship.

No prior experience is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to arrive.

We begin Feb 10 in Byron Hinterland.
A few spaces remain.
