✨A fully downloadable Trauma-Informed Personal Training Certification and Foundations course is now available! So many of you messaged us and said taking 3 days off and consuming 3 days worth of material is A LOT at once. Chelsea and I believe in pivoting when needed and leaning into more accessible ways to expand this community of trainers.

📣You can download this course using the link in our bios, you can bundle with our foundations course with a discount, and you can be sure we have more and exciting things coming your way for alumni resources. Stay tuned!

🕸️We are a small business; your support and sharing of our material and work matters to us. If we can support and uplift your work too, tag us and connect with us. Together we form a web of community to support trauma-informed healing in a very challenging landscape around us.

Our course is approved for CEUs through @nasmfitness.

Excited to share that our courses have received a little refresh! Like anything we create, it changes as we change and learn.

Our Trauma-Informed Personal Training Certification and our Foundations course now include updated research, videos, tips, and Emily and Chelsea dialogue more around what’s working with clients.

We are both in a season of creativity and change. Excited to share some new ways to connect with us and with each other soon. It’s never felt more important to support each other in running businesses in the age of VC backed platforms and AI.

🌱 Connection to the body is sometimes challenging when life overwhelms our capacity to be physically present in the here and now.

Here are some tips Emily @theembodiedtrainer and I share in our book and online courses for practitioners and personal trainers. Link in bio for more info and resources.

“I don’t know” is a perfectly reasonable response to being asked to connect with the body after little connection. We don’t need to dive into the “why” someone doesn’t know. It’s just a simple noticing as we continue to build curiosity towards ourselves again.

❓What other connection questions do you use when inquiring towards body connection in your work or personal practice?

Can you imagine hearing this from someone you hired to push you?

@theembodiedtrainer said this in our conversation and it completely reframed what I thought personal training could look like.

She’s a trauma-informed personal trainer and somatic therapist.
She shows up to every session with a plan. And she holds it loosely on purpose.

Because a client who feels safe enough to say “I just need to lay down today” is a client who can actually heal.

Emily’s new book, Trauma Informed Bodywork, is out now.

Yesterday was very special 🥰 @the.embodiedtherapist and I were invited to speak about Trauma-Informed Bodywork by our favorite local bookstore @wyrdbookstore.

It was an incredible experience to be able to connect with our local community and fellow lovers of movement. Also just a total surreal experience to be signing our book! 🥹🫶

Thank to everyone who came out and the vulnerability to share openly about your experiences. A huge thank you to @wyrdbookstore for having us 💛 by @theembodiedtrainer

We are so excited to invite you to a truly special evening at our favorite independent bookstore 💫

Join Emily and I at Wyrd Books in Edgewater, Maryland @wyrdbookstore as we celebrate the launch of Trauma-Informed Bodywork with an author talk, Q&A, and embodied connection invitation.

📅 May 15, 2026
⏰ 5:30–7 PM

Bookstores are magic. The stories, the energy, the people, and the community we share with Wyrd is something truly special.

Wyrd is an old English word referring to the idea that destiny is not predetermined, but is shaped and molded by individual choice and unfolds as an interconnected series of events.

We would love to see you there. Come listen, connect, and celebrate this launch with us 📚✨ by @theembodiedtrainer

In TRAUMA-INFORMED BODYWORK, authors Chelsea Haverly and Emily Young explain how trauma is stored in the body—and how this makes movement-based practices an essential tool for trauma recovery. Haverly and Young cover key concepts—like complex trauma, vicarious trauma, body-related trauma, and nervous system regulation—and explore how they present when working with clients.

This trauma-informed guide for somatic practitioners, movement therapists, bodyworkers, and personal trainers is out now wherever you get books!

Congratulations to my colleagues @the.embodiedtherapist + @hopeignitedtraining + @theembodiedtrainer on this incredible new resource which I can’t wait to include in my trauma-informed yoga certification trainings! I’m always deeply honored to be asked to endorse books and so touched they included it on the cover. This book is a breathtaking reminder that we are all worthy of moving our bodies for joy instead of punishment. Congratulations loves! by @theembodiedtrainer

When Emily and I finished the “final draft” of our book and the next step of our authoring journey was to reach out to other authors and people we admired in the industry for endorsement - we were NERVOUS!

We surprised ourselves how quickly personal this book became - it isn’t just a guide. It includes some of our personal journeys of connecting with our bodies and divesting from traditional standards of size, strength, and what healing really means for us any many others.

Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for Laura Khoudari- Author of Lifting Heavy Things, Healing Trauma One Rep at a Time.

Zabie Yamasaki - Author of Trauma-Informed Yoga for Survivors of Sexual Assault and Protect Your Energy (Out Soon!)

These amazing humans not only made our vulnerability feel seen, but they also said ‘Yes’ and have supported our launch of this piece of us ever since. We value community building at the core of what we do- we invite you to support these amazing authors in their work as they have supported us!

Laura can be found on Substack https://substack.com/@laurakhoudari

Zabie can be connected with here @transcending_trauma_with_yoga

North Atlantic Books @natlanticbooks has so many amazing authors to check out too!
