How quickly do we judge people?

One of the things I love most about Judaism is that we’re encouraged to keep asking questions, to look deeper.

For generations, Miriam bat Bilgah, one of the most controversial figures in the Talmud, has often been remembered as a symbol of betrayal.

Then the Lubavitcher Rebbe asked a simple question that changed everything:

What if we’ve misunderstood her?

Sometimes, one question can completely change the way we see a person.

It makes me wonder…

How often do we assume we know someone’s story?

How often do we write people off before trying to understand them?

At The Empowered Jew, we believe Jewish education isn’t just about learning facts. It’s about learning to think more deeply, ask better questions, and uncover the timeless wisdom within Torah.

The Rebbe reminds us that beneath every Jew lies an innate and unbreakable connection to their Jewish identity, even when it isn’t immediately visible.

This story isn’t only about Miriam.

It’s about how we choose to see other people.

👇 What’s one lesson you took away from the Rebbe’s perspective on Miriam bat Bilgah?

It was so special to film this reel with @sheina.gutnick .

Sheina’s father, Reuven Morrison, saved mine and my baby’s life. That alone is something I will never be able to put into words.

But beyond that, I am constantly inspired by Sheina. Her resilience, her strength, and the way she has transformed unimaginable pain into purpose is extraordinary. Today, Sheina is the public affairs officer for the @combatantisemitism , continuing to use her voice to stand up for the Jewish people. She chooses light, keeps fighting, and wears her Jewish identity with pride.

I couldn’t think of a more fitting message during the Three Weeks.

The Three Weeks are a time of mourning and reflection over the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash. But they are also a time to strengthen ourselves, to grow, and to build the kind of Jewish future we want to see.

There is something incredibly powerful about choosing to remain a proud Jew during this period. To deepen our connection to Judaism. To do another mitzvah. To strengthen our Ahavat Yisrael. To continue shining our Jewish light, even in times of darkness.

May our Jewish pride, our unity, and our acts of goodness help bring about the rebuilding of the third Beis Hamikdash במהרה בימינו. ✡️🤍 by @theempoweredjew

A glimpse inside the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s private office at 770 Eastern Parkway, Crown Heights, Brooklyn!

I’m still reminiscing about my incredible trip to Crown Heights! I have SO much content I want to share with you all. There was simply so much to experience, learn and take in! ✨

I wanted to give you all a glimpse inside the Rebbe’s private office, where he spent countless hours studying Torah, responding to letters from around the world and meeting privately with individuals for yechidus.

Today, the Rebbe’s office is also used as a shul, including on Mondays, Thursdays and Shabbat, when the Torah is read. Afterwards, women have the opportunity to enter and daven. As you can see, there’s even an Aron Kodesh and tzedakah boxes!

🙏 But why do people come to daven in the Rebbe’s office?

In Chassidic thought, a tzaddik brings holiness into the world through their Torah study, mitzvos and service of Hashem. A place where a tzaddik devoted so much of their life to serving Hashem is therefore regarded with particular reverence.

For Chassidim, entering the Rebbe’s room is an opportunity to reflect, connect, give tzedakah and, most importantly, turn to Hashem in prayer.

And just to clarify, we don’t daven TO the Rebbe. We daven to Hashem!

💬 Have you ever visited 770 or been inside the Rebbe’s office? I’d love to hear about your experience! Share below ⬇️

As I was preparing for a shiur I’m giving this Shabbat, I found myself overwhelmed by just how many incredible, meaningful and practical lessons we can learn from this week’s parsha, Parshat Noach!

There is SO much wisdom in the Torah that is just as relevant to our lives today as it was thousands of years ago.

I couldn’t help but share a few of my favourite takeaways with you all! 🚢🌊

Which of these lessons resonates with you the most? I’d love to hear in the comments! 👇 by @theempoweredjew

Antisemitism is real, and responding to it matters. But Jewish life is about so much more than fighting hatred.

The Rebbe’s perspective reminds us to take our safety seriously while continuing to learn, connect and live proudly as Jews. 🤍

That’s at the heart of The Empowered Jew: understanding who we are and owning our identity with confidence.

What’s one thing you can do to strengthen your Jewish identity? Share below 👇

Before Zoom, livestreaming and the internet, there was WLCC! 📞🌎

Did you know that back in 1970, the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s farbrengens were being broadcast LIVE from 770 in Brooklyn to Jewish communities around the world?!

And guess what?! Melbourne, Australia, was one of the very first cities connected! 🇦🇺

What started with a handful of telephone lines eventually grew to connect approximately 600 locations worldwide!

All from one tiny room in 770! 🤯

A fascinating piece of Jewish history and an incredible example of using technology to connect, educate and inspire Jews around the world!

The kosher scene in America is NEXT LEVEL! 🤯🇺🇸

This was just one of the countless kosher supermarkets in Crown Heights!

And in other Jewish communities across the tri-state area, there are fully kosher supermarkets the size of your average grocery store! The variety, the options, the sheer scale of it all! Honestly, unbelievable!

Coming from Australia, I just couldn’t get over it! 😂

Do you have a fully kosher supermarket near you? 🛒✡️ taken in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York by @theempoweredjew
