Happy World Anaesthesia day 🥳🎉🥳.
I am so happy I am an Anaesthetist.
It is a privilege to be given the assignment to take care of mankind in very vulnerable moments of their lives.
I dreamt about this point way back in medical school and I am so glad how far God has brought me🥹.
When I tell my patients just before I induce "sleep"; I am here and I won't leave your side, I promise to keep you safe... It's a vow and a prayer to God.
God has always helped me achieve this.
Anaesthesia is a lot of science and resilience but in my experience spiritual too.

This year we are reminded of the part Anaesthetist play; Before, During and Beyond Surgery.
We are masters at resuscitation, we anticipate and mitigate problems that can harm our patients even before they happen and we are constantly trying to get the best outcome.

The year was 2016 and if I could go back to tell my younger self a few words it'll be, "Be at rest Esther. I know you feel studying medicine was not your best decision but it worked out and you found purpose and knowing Jesus is still the best decision you've made."

Before 2024 runs out…
I’ll say it’s been a very interesting year.

I got into residency training in Anaesthesia after daydreaming about her in the trenches of medical school.
Learning gadgets and very important skills along the way.

Well, I almost died like 4 times this year but I highlight being the driver of that busted vehicle and experiencing an anaphylactic shock where my neck had to cannulated to give me epinephrine since all my peripheral line disappeared in the process… God’s mercy was and is really strong on my life

I wrote several licensing exams and made new friends, passed all my exams this year to the glory of God!

My bags are packed and ready for 2025, I move with Christ. by @theesteri

Today, as we celebrate International Women's Day, it is essential to acknowledge the challenges that women continue to face. From the assumption that our lives are easier to societal expectations and judgments, these obstacles persist. But, in facing these challenges, we also recognize the incredible strength and resilience that define the essence of being a woman.

we've shed light on the misconceptions and pressures, from the assumption that our achievements are incomplete without marriage to the unrealistic beauty standards perpetuated by society. Yet, in the face of adversity, let's not forget the power we hold – to see things for what they are, to act under pressure, to endure physical, and psychological strain including during pregnancy.
To be more than just individuals; to be mothers, sisters, leaders of organization.

As we navigate through these challenges, it's crucial to stand united, supporting one another in breaking stereotypes and fostering equality. International Women's Day is not just a celebration; it's a call to action. Let's continue challenging norms, empowering each other, and working towards a world where every woman is free from prejudice.
