House tour house tour house tour!! It’s starting to feel real now! This is OUR side of the new house and I need SO MUCH help deciding floor plans, I have to choose a location for our kitchen and take the CARPET OUT OF THE BATHROOM!

We’re moving into this dream house with my mum in the hopes to turn it into a perfect multi generational home and be the house we raise our family in. I’m so excited to take you on this journey with us as I have NO CLUE WHERE TO START. It’s listed?! This is so new to me.

AD This really is a milestone moment - after 30 months of DIY renovating this house, we’re finally finishing the last room... ready to put in on the market!!! Today we’re dealing with this dated black conservatory and turning it into a calming sun room, perfect for summer evenings and morning coffees for our future buyers.

Starting with @Duluxuk Multi-surface primer and undercoat to cover up the black paint, then some Kitchen Easycare for the walls and Quick Dry Satinwood for the panelling, both in Egyptian Cotton. Forthe interior of the uPVC, I went with Quick Dry Satinwood, tinted in the shade Green Glade. The exterior uPVC was painted in Dulux Multi-Surface Weathershield in Green Glade - a great option for conservatorys, windows, doors and metal as it offers weather protection for all the British seasons.

So with all the rooms in my house some shade of green, we just gotta hope the next owners love the shade as much as I do!

If you want to try a DIY like this, you can get FREE testers using the code: THEFAFFINGNESTTESTER

The end of an era. 3 years and dad was right. We won’t make the money we hoped on this house. But if do it all again if I had to.

My kitchen fitting experience. Disclaimer: my dad helped me for 5 days, he has fitted his own kitchens before. Having a knowledgable dad is so useful but not necessary. Everything can be done without experience it might just take you a bit longer to get started. You got this 💪

An update. No shade to anyone who sold their house quickly. I’m jealous. It’s brutal out there

Ad A love letter to Taupe.

It wasn’t hard choosing my @mysmilekitchen kitchen but it was even easier choosing the shade. This creamy taupe colour can be beige, green and pink in different lights. It works within all colour palettes and styles, making it one of the most versatile colours that everyone could fall in love with.

My kitchen is the Eddison Range in Taupe, the shaker doors have neat trim detail, my handles are pewter which reflect the colour of my kitchen out into the room and the extra additions of marble effect worktops, black AO appliances and rattan shades brings everything together.

It’s easy to romanticise this kitchen, so why not start your next love story and book a design consultation with Smile Kitchens today. Use my code THEFAFFINGNEST to claim £150 off your kitchen when you order.

The secret to a tidy home is having enough places to panic-shove things. Out of sight… out of emotional responsibility.

Footstools are from @dunelmuk clearance
Table cloth is from @dunelmuk clearance
Staple gun
Glue

Bish bash bosh. Tidy home.

Refresh for less! Even if you don’t have a big budget or the right tools, there are so many ways you can refresh a utility room or a kitchen without needing lots of skills and tools.

You can easily cut cheap trim (from the range!) down using £12 mitre shears (from amazon!) and glue them to your kitchen cupboards - worried about the finish not being good enough for the adhesive to stick too? I cover all these concerns in my FREE guide with ideas, step by step processes and handy links.

Comment REFRESH and I’ll dm you the free article which goes through everything.

Share this with someone who needs the motivation to give it a go!
