I am pleased to announce that my app Fencing Manager is officially live on the Apple App Store.

Fencing Manager is built for the way the sport actually works — not as a generic scoreboard with a fencing skin on it.

The base app includes the core bout-management system on iPhone and iPad:
• Pool bouts
• Direct elimination bouts
• 9-leg team relay
• NCAA dual meets
• Para workflows
• Live scoring and timing
• PDF reports and shareable outputs
• Basic bout data and insights
• QR scanning for Fencing Time Live™ workflows

For coaches, clubs, and serious athletes who want more, Analytics Premier adds:
• Advanced analytics
• Coaching workflows
• Roster tools
• Fencer profiles
• Film review / video review tools

Built local-first, with optional iCloud sync, and no separate login required for core app use.

Base app: $9.99 one-time
Analytics Premier: $59.99/year or $9.99/month

Available on iOS.

This one was brought to my attention by @cyrusofchaos I break down the double naughty boy especial from veteran worlds. The call was red card right for deflecting with the back arm. Watch the video and my analysis. What do you think? by @thefencingcoach

Did you know that Fencing Manager has Apple Car Play, so if you referee while driving it can do it.

Fencing Manager (my app) just got a big 2.0 update. More than just a scoring tool, it can handle every format from FIE to IWAS (Para) to NCAA dual meets.

Now with social shares, you can immediately export your analytics to InstaFace, FaceGram, and Tock Tick. Export PDF reports of your bouts to your coach so they can yell at you for letting them down (again).

Update has been made to eliminate the p-yellow, and it also includes the new para mixed team formats.

Para friends, I am working on updates to Fencing Manager to include the new Mixed 20 point format for Epee and Foil + the 30 point mixed format for Sabre. Tested this morning and working well, but will try to do some real logic tests in the field in the coming weeks. @coach.milamanzarek by @thefencingcoach

Now assembled and testing for review: the @unicfencing coaching blade. First impression: it’s a feather 🪶 which is exactly what they’re going for. This is a weapon they’re marketing to coaches giving a billion lessons a week. The idea behind it is it is supposed to put less strain on the coach. Will test and review in the next month. by @thefencingcoach

Tough calls in Épée featuring @david.gornovsky. I like this one for analysis a lot because it involves assessing when each fencer goes off strip (or not), when the fencer who stays on the strip gets a chance to riposte (and when he doesn’t), and making a decision to award (or not) based on both lights going off. A lot of referees say Epee is the hardest to ref and calls like this are a reminder why. #Fencing #EpeeFencing #Escrime #Scherma #Fechten

Edit: A correction. The referee did NOT award a double I saw another angle of the video. Ref got it right 🙏🏻 by @thefencingcoach
