Pulled for the quarter finals to see what kind of show 2016 could put on alongside the players. Glimmering lake ladled reflections reach into a richness that commands your whole gaze and full gullet’s gratitude.

Like sunspots in your eyes, the aromatics are almost blinding as it binds itself to every memory of honeysuckle and mashed Madagascar vanilla bean with a spice dusting like Frank Costello fanning cocaine across the floor.

The palate is an opulent couture catwalk: the Chasselas becomes almost chewy like dehydrated honeydew melon bits with a buttermilk body that is only narrowly threaded together with lemon zest braids. It punches back at the finish with minerality like the space age crystals I grew as a kid but on tangerine and grapefruit rinds.

Much love to @bubblesinmylife for bringing this around many moons ago 🌜 taken in South Austin by @thefermentedfox

Around here, we don’t hand out VIP wristbands.

We hand out camp sashes.

They aren’t for sale, and you don’t get one on your first day at camp.

But when you do- Slip it on, grab a glass, and find a seat.

Wear it to your next class. Collect a few stories. Maybe a splash or two of wine. (It builds character.)

A Camp Vini sash means you’ve found your way back. You’ve shared a few tables, discovered a few new favorites, and become part of the story we’re building together.

It’s a small tradition, but one we hope you’ll be proud to earn.

Because around here, everyone who comes to camp belongs at camp.

Howdy, campers 🤠🍷

What if the next great bottle you fall in love with…
is from Texas?

TWANG TIME is our next campfire circle — and we’re turning our gaze homeward.

High Plains wind.
Hill Country limestone.
Heat. Elevation. Grit.

Wines shaped by place — and by people who believed world-class belongs right here.

We’ll taste through up-and-coming producers, talk terroir and farming practices, and explore what Texas wine looks like right now.

🎟 Tickets are live — link in bio.

Two seatings: 5:30 & 8PM
St. Elmo District

Be honest — when was the last time you gave Texas wine your full attention? 👀

Wine education doesn’t have to feel like homework.

Sometimes it looks like this:
• tasting something unfamiliar
• realizing you love it
• trusting your own palate instead of a score

That’s the energy we’re bringing into January.

Camp Vini-Vini-Nifera rule #1:
If the wine’s good, the conversations will follow.

This is what happens when you take the pressure off and let people drink what they like — curiosity shows up, laughter gets louder, and suddenly everyone’s got an opinion (and that’s encouraged).

This is camp.
This is the point.

And yes… we’re gathering again.

Your new weekend plans, courtesy of our friends @_midnightinthegarden_!
The Copa Jerez Celebration dinner with Chef @ryan._chef
7+ courses with pairings!

Three of the courses were featured at the Copa Jerez competition back in June, where Midnight in the Garden Mastermind Alex Bell won Best International Sommelier, ranking him among the top in the world of Sherry!

“This dinner celebrates our efforts and success in the competition and provides an opportunity for us to present the menu to the amazing Austin community. We will feature all three courses from the competition, along with pairing selections, plus several other celebratory courses just because. We never would have had this chance without your support, so come join us and let us thank you by sharing this incredible achievement with you!”
-Alex Bell.

Two seatings available: Sunday, August 24th at 5 pm & 8:30 pm. Link in bio for tickets!

No one should ever need a reason to open champagne for themselves and lovers or friends, but it damn sure ain’t a bad day when you’re pouring constellations in celebration.

Two weeks ago, @_midnightinthegarden_ myself and Chef Ryan Fox @ryan._chef were invited by @starchefs and @sherrywinesjerez to compete in the domestic finals of Copa Jerez. With two checked bags full of mise and a mountain of energy inside of us, we hit the city like lightning bolts. Between spoiled crab and spot prawn, paco jet perils, to a Nicolas Cage level quest for liquid nitrogen, the chips felt stacked high.

We bet big, we played bold, and came out as the victors. The incredible teams we competed against from @talullacambridge and @bazaarbyjose you are legends. To the competition we’ll face Spain in the Spring, hold onto your butts. To those who believed in us and gave the underdog its shot to shine, you make me feel like dancing.

I’ve had this 2009 tête de cuvée from @champagnejlassalle stashed away for a few rotations of the sun, and knew there was no sparkling queen who would best help my queen (@jayceegrover) and I celebrate.

Splashed fat and full in the glass because it’s a celebration silly, the nose poured pirouettes stuffed with lemon buttercream and orange blossom. Still immensely vibrant, it had a fresh, crisp $2 bill from a family in congratulations and for future good luck quality, with a handful of solely yellow peanut m&m’s and the sweaty nostalgia of cinnamon poptarts popping from the toaster on a sprint to the bus.

As an old house still filled with love, the palate has dried floral sweetness like an ex-fashinista grandmother’s couture dresses. The fruit plays into donut glazed meyer lemons, and pilancillo crusted pear. There’s a back end of old book page, that has this charm to it, the same charm as opening a book borrowed from a deep library hidden with notes that enlighten you beyond the page.

What did you pair with the debate?!

@ernestvineyards ‘Joyce Vineyards’ Chardonnay from the West Sonoma Coast did me so right. Much love to @joeyconpala and his sex wizard skills with this.

Once it hit the glass, the nose was a pineapple custard crusted banana blunt wrap, while mowing down a slice of neon, bar-sign-bright key lime pie filling. Mounds of sweet moss dripping with summer dew drops, and singing a story of the great lemon tree stolen by Shelbyville. The acidity plucks like Stradivarius strings while the body has a glow of lightning bugs summer sweetness and depth. A pirate looking at 40 would pound at least two bottles.

Do you think it pairs well with eating dogs and cats?! taken in South Austin by @thefermentedfox
