1 minute, 51 seconds slower. And somehow, I walked away still believing I was faster than last year.

Here’s an interesting statistic.

Across the Men’s Pro Doubles field in Boston, typical sled times changed significantly from 2025 to 2026:

Sled Push: 1:54 → 2:47 (+53 seconds)
Sled Pull: 4:02 → 4:22 (+20 seconds)

That’s 1:13 slower on the sleds alone. Across the field.

So yeah, losing time is one thing. Losing time while expending significantly more energy is another. You don’t necessarily get those resources back. But boo-fucking-hoo! 😂.

For me, Runs 6-8 my quads started cramping. 😔. It’s a miracle they didn’t fully seize. 😂. Despite feeling great cardiovascularly, I had to pull back considerably when we were just starting to get aggressive.

Now, the accountability part.

Conditions are conditions. Everybody has challenges. Last year it was my Achilles. This year it was my quads. At some point, the responsibility is on me to figure out how to prepare better, manage those challenges, and execute a complete race.

No excuses. Just opportunities to improve.

And I’ll tell you, some of the men running in those Pro Men’s Doubles waves - are absolute specimen. Like WTF?! I’m balding, got crooked teeth, wearing dirty shoes and shorts that are too big while standing 5’6” and I’ve got gray hair - and these guys are UNITS! Fit. Fashionable. Tall. Like holy hell! They certainly make me want to be better.

As for my teammate - proud of Caleb, dealing with his foot injury and his growing family (and his old ass partner 😂). It isn’t easy. Proud of everyone from NCCF who showed up and gave it everything. And grateful to be part of a community that makes hard things so much fun.

Best to keep setting these goals - and keep myself moving.

Super proud of this very soon to be 7th grader. Officially practicing with the JV Soccer team. First off, that’s intimidating as hell. I remember trying out in 7th grade for MODIFIED - they put me in goal and smoked a ball at me - ripped it off my thigh (which was technically a “save” 😂) and it stung so bad and I was so embarrassed I quit. Lastly, he has dribbled and kicked so many god damn balls in this house and in our backyard - he deserves it. He’s worked on his foot skills, shot angles, spin, and power. Kid is undersized - but he’s accepted the challenge! Way to go GRANT! by @thefleuryboyz

Duke for sure has a favorite place… we might too. More importantly - what you don’t see is that all the kids get to actually be kids. Made up games. Water. Sun. Missing teeth. Poker. Laughter. It’s been a decade since you left.

A decade. May 22nd, 2016.

10 Years.
3,650 Days.
87,600 Hours.
5,256,000 Minutes.
315,360,000 Seconds.

A lot has changed in 10 years. A lot.

My kids have gone from being toddlers, to blossoming young men (middle and high-school)

We lost Jet this year. 🖤. He was 16, and it was his time to go.

I’ve aged. Backflips just aren’t as easy as they used to be. I can see it in my hands, and my face. I can REALLY see it in my hair. 😂 (should probably say CANT see).

We spend our summers on the lake now.

We spend our spring, fall, and winter carting our kids around to sporting events.

Erin and I still work hard to make sure we still know each other - mostly fail - but I think we are doing pretty damn good.

I still work retail, 27 years later. So many things remind me of you. Lots of songs, but mostly weird goofy noises. One of my coworkers John, makes sounds that are identical to you, and I still perk up for the split second I think it’s you. I smile literally every time.

I still make jokes at you. And I’m not nice about it. 😂

My niece Wren turned 1, two days ago.

There is one thing that hasn’t changed - The NY Jets, still suck. I mean, like still really really suck.

I should try harder to spend some time with the friends that I love, Matt and Corey.

In the end, what a decade it’s been.

So much growth.
So much love.
So much LIFE.

And you are still a part of it all.

In our thoughts.
In our memories.
Right here, right now, in the hearts of all the people reading this.

Thank you for being here, and thank you for making sure I continue to reflect, and continue to be grateful for the BEAUTIFUL life I lead.

I’ll keep doing my best to make this all count.
