Unwrapping my blind date with a book that I picked up from @nookandquillbookshop “Trained in isolation to destroy the tyrannical Bridge Kingdom and its ruler, King Aren, Princess Lara enters a political marriage with one goal: tear their defenses down from the inside. But as she uncovers the truth behind the realm’s trade monopoly and her hatred for Aren turns to passion, Lara must decide which kingdom she will save—and which she will destroy.” #enemiestolovers #romantasy #bookstagram #reader #blinddatewithabook by @thefreckledfae

Fall is officially here! Well… mentally, at least. Out here in Florida it’s still hot as the devil’s butt-crack 😏, but I’m doing my absolute best to channel those autumn vibes anyway! 🍂🔥 To kick off the season (and pretend the temperature dropped below 90°), I put together an orange-themed book stack featuring some of my ultimate favorites. If the weather won’t give us fall, at least our bookshelves can! What’s your absolute favorite fall activity? Mine will always be crisp, cool nights around a bonfire with good friends. We might not get those cool bonfire nights down here, but I’m counting down the days until I head back home in October to soak up every bit of crisp autumn air I can get! 🍁✨And with every autumn season that comes I have to push down this feeling that time is drastically reducing and I’m running out of time; Time to travel, time to explore, time to read and write, time to feel all the things… #bookstagram #bookstack #read #fallvibes #autumn by @thefreckledfae

Yesterday was an absolute dream for my spooky loving soul. I headed out to a 🧛🏼 Vampire Diaries–themed book event hosted by my absolute favorite local spot, @nookandquillbookshop and it was a blast. I definitely couldn’t leave empty-handed. Here is my haul from the day: 📚The Book Spree: I picked up Eldritch by Keri Lake and Ravenous by Kresley Cole. ✨Blind Date with a Book: I couldn’t resist grabbing one of these! The trope tags on the wrapping—enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, forced proximity, and “who did this to you?”—had me immediately sold. I can’t wait to unwrap it! ⚰️Vampire Essentials: I scored my very own daylight ring, which means I can finally step into the Florida sun without immediately bursting into flames. And some blood bags to keep me hydrated ❣️.
To keep the spooky-sweet vibe going for the rest of the day, I did a little extra retail therapy. I found the new Squishmallows Moon Mist perfume—the bottle is a tiny vampire bat 🦇, and honestly? It smells amazing. To top it off, I snagged the cutest Kuromi cotton candy hand sanitizer 🍬 Overall, a pretty iconic day 🧛🏼❣️🦇 Tell me, are you Team Stefan or Team Damon? #vampirediaries #bookstagram #reading #vampire #books by @thefreckledfae

Happy #ThirstyThursday, brought to you by Rita’s in Velaris! 🌌✨Mixing up “Starry Night Shots” featuring black vodka, blue curaçao, and lemon juice. Currently debating if Throne of Glass is about to dethrone ACOTAR as my favorite SJM series. Falling in love more and more with this series the further I get through it. Still struggling with Crescent City. 🌙 Imagine walking into Rita’s on a Saturday night. You’re at the bar with Mor, throwing back Starry Night Shots, Shoop comes on the jukebox, and the bat boys walk in. (Dibs on Cassian!) ❤️‍🔥 Tell me: have you ever tried black vodka? and more importantly... which bat boy has your heart? Or is there another Maasverse character who you love? When it comes to writing dreamy MMCs I think SJM has that nailed. #acotar #batboys #bookstagram #vodka by @thefreckledfae

I wanted to do a dark gothic vibe book stack. My first choice is The Phantom of The Opera 🥀. This will always be one of my favorite novels. The book opened the door for my love of gothic literature. Erik—the original masked man lingering in the shadows of the Paris Opera House—is the blueprint for the modern dark romance anti-hero 🎭. That mix of grand, brooding atmosphere, obsessive devotion, and lingering danger is hard to top, especially when setting up a fall book stack. My soul is wired for gothic dark romance/dark Romantasy. I also dove into Haunting the Hunter, which proved to be a unique read. It blurs the line between story and reader, pulling you directly into the haunt as a key player. I’m already waiting for book two. What’s your favorite part of the “BER” months? Other than masked men 😘🖤 #bookstacks #darkromantasy #gothicreads #bermonths #books by @thefreckledfae

This month’s Allurial drop was so good I had to grab the extra book! The artwork on both is sheer perfection—especially Kiss of the Black Flame, which even features a gorgeous textured cover (you’re welcome, sensory lovers 😘). What to expect inside: Blood, fire, and deadly bargains. Saige Grayson is a master bookbinder battling chronic pain and crushing debt—until her creditor trades her to the Azkari, a terrifying race of immortal warriors. Locked inside an ancient stronghold, her sole path to freedom is Archer: a cursed, lethal fallen general who needs her to restore a tome of living magic. But as they unearth the book’s dark power, their dangerous alliance sparks a fire capable of saving the realm—or burning it to ash. And White Raven; Harbingers of enlightenment, bringers of darkness. Givers of life, tellers of death … significance flies on the backs of raven wings for those who dare to listen to its meaning. For we are the Messengers of the Realm. This one has the following tropes: enemies to lovers, chosen one, impossible love. #bookstagram #romantasy #read #fantasybooklover #monday Special guest appearance by Pippin 🤎🐾🐶 by @thefreckledfae

A Thirsty Thursday captured in black and white—proof that true classics never go out of style. Whispered into existence in the early 19th century, the Old Fashioned reigns (allegedly) as the world’s very first official cocktail. It was born when men craved a return to simpler, richer indulgence, crowning this sublime blend of amber whiskey, slow-melting sugar, and aromatic bitters as the ultimate icon of sophistication.
Cheers to Thirsty Thursday. Are you pouring a top-shelf rye, or settling into the dark, intoxicating aesthetic of a mafia romance? If you need a dangerous pairing tonight, sink into The Huntsman by Naima Simone pair with an Old Fashioned 🥃🖤 #thirstythursdays #mafiaromancebooks #oldfashioned #reading #darkromancebooks by @thefreckledfae

Yesterday, I found myself drawn back to my favorite sanctuary: The Nook and Quill. Though I was heart-broken to miss Monday evening’s release party, fate smiled on me during my evening commute—leaving just enough time to drop by and claim a few treasured additions to my shelves. Happy Release Day (plus one!) to The Knave and The Moon! 📖✨The true magic of the visit? I officially adopted my very own Bartholomew—complete with his adorable, official adoption papers 🥰. Naturally, I couldn’t resist bringing home a little talking Bartholomew to keep watch over my bookshelf, too. Having this enchanting shop and its wonderfully warm owner just around the corner is the best. Here’s to many more book-filled adventures ahead! ❣️ #theknaveandthemoon #books #theknightandthemoth #bartholomew #reading by @thefreckledfae
