Most people don’t even realize how their financial advisor is getting paid… and that’s the problem.

There are 3 main models:
AUM fees. Commissions. Flat fees.

AUM sounds simple—until you realize you’re paying a % every year… whether your portfolio goes up, down, or sideways.

Commissions? That’s where “advice” can start looking a lot like a sales pitch.

Flat fees? No hidden incentives. No product pushing. Just clear, transparent planning.

We believe how your advisor gets paid matters just as much as the advice itself.

Which model are you currently under? 👇🏾 by @thefundedlife

Most people don’t struggle because they don’t make enough money…

They struggle because no one ever showed them how their money should work together.

Welcome to The Funded Life.

This page is for:
• Physicians, dentists & healthcare professionals
• Tech professionals & high earners
• Busy families building real wealth — not just income

Here we talk about:
How to structure your finances
How to reduce taxes (legally)
How to invest intentionally
And how money supports your actual life — not the other way around

Because financial planning isn’t spreadsheets.

It’s clarity.
It’s confidence.
It’s alignment.

If that’s what you’re looking for…
you’re in the right place

$5,000 a year for club soccer isn’t unusual. Did you plan for it?

I’m a financial planner, so I’ll say it plainly: the costs are real. Club fees, tournaments, travel, gear, and the extras that never show up on the registration form.

I’m also a soccer dad, so I’ll say this just as plainly: our family is making this investment on purpose. We believe the return is there.

And it’s not a scholarship or a trophy. It’s the stuff a spreadsheet can’t measure:
⚽ Showing up when it’s hard
⚽ Coming back after a loss
⚽ Being on a team that counts on you
⚽ Friendships that outlast the season

Every family decides what’s worth it for them. All I’d ask is that you decide with your eyes open: know the real total, set a number you’re comfortable with, and know what you’re paying for. Then go all in and enjoy every Saturday on the sideline.

Swipe through for the full breakdown 👉

Know a soccer parent who’s never added it up? Send them this. And tell me below: what’s the best return you’ve seen from sports? 👇

On October 1, the Treasury opened about 60 million Trump Accounts for kids. Automatically. Parents didn’t have to sign up for anything.

Here’s the part most people miss: opening an account and claiming it are two different things. In the first week, about 164,000 accounts were claimed, which is under 1% of the total.

A few things worth knowing about how these accounts work:

📌 Eligible kids born 2025 through 2028 can get a one-time $1,000 federal contribution
📌 Family, friends and employers can add up to $5,000 per year combined, per account
📌 Donors can now give individual stocks, which are generally held for 5 years or until the child’s growth period ends, whichever comes first
📌 At 18, the account works like a traditional IRA, so withdrawals before 59½ can trigger income tax plus a 10% early-withdrawal tax, with some exceptions

Claiming happens through the official Trump Accounts app, where parents verify who they are and add their child’s info.

It’s a big change in how kids’ savings accounts get started, and a lot of parents haven’t heard about it yet. If you know one, send them this.

Follow @thefundedlife for plain-English money education.

Educational content only, not financial, tax or legal advice. Program rules can change, so check the official Treasury site for current details.

60 million kids were auto-enrolled in Trump Accounts. Enrolled isn’t the same as claimed. 👀

Here’s the short version of what the claim flow asks for:
1️⃣ Verify you’re the parent
2️⃣ Confirm your details
3️⃣ Add your child
4️⃣ Treasury verifies

It takes a few minutes, but only if you know it’s waiting for you.

📩 Send this to the parent in your life who’d never think to check. It might be the only reason they find out.

I’m not giving you financial advice here, just what’s changed so you can decide for yourself. Check the official Treasury site for the current details and eligibility before you act.

Some days I feel confident. Other days I question everything.

I show up anyway.

Building a business, raising three boys, and creating a life I’m proud of takes more than motivation. It takes following through when the excitement wears off.

Whatever you’ve been putting off take one step today. 👊🏾

I did not have “become a content creator in my 40s” on my career bingo card. 😂

But building a business will introduce you to versions of yourself you didn’t know you needed.

The planner becomes a business owner.
The business owner becomes a marketer.
And somehow, the dad of three becomes the guy setting up a tripod between client meetings and soccer practice.

Some days, you feel confident. Other days, you hit record for the seventh time and wonder what you signed up for.

I’m proud of what we’re building at Fortitude. Not because every day looks impressive, but because the work means something to our clients, our families, and the people we get to serve.

The goal isn’t to work every waking hour. It’s to build something worthwhile without missing the life happening around it.

Who else has picked up a completely unexpected skill while building a business? 👇🏾

January was about three emails ago. Now we’re in Q4. 😭😂

Between running a business, raising three boys, soccer practices and the occasional “I’ll just finish this one thing”… apparently an entire year happened.

Love the life we’re building. Could use a slower playback speed, though. 🤣

Anybody else feel like this year has been one long Monday?

“Just 1%” sounds small—until you do the math. 🧮

At a 1% annual advisory fee:

💵 $1 million invested = $10,000 a year
💵 $2 million invested = $20,000 a year
💵 $3 million invested = $30,000 a year

And if your portfolio grows, the dollar amount of that fee grows with it.

That doesn’t automatically make the fee unreasonable. But it does make this question worth asking:

“What am I paying in dollars, and what am I getting for it?”

Does that include investment management, comprehensive financial planning, tax planning and tax preparation? Or are some services billed separately?

A flat fee is another pricing model to compare. Neither model alone tells you the quality of the advice you need to understand the cost, the scope and the value.

You work hard for your money. Understanding what you pay for financial advice should be straightforward.

Save this for your next conversation with your financial advisor.
