It’s time for a reintroduction! 👋 Hi, we’re Josh and Andrea, the duo behind @thegetawaycouple! 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️ 🏐 We’re 31 and 29 years old and met playing volleyball in the fall of 2022. 🏡 We live in London, but not *that* London—the one in Canada! ❄️ Not huge fans of the cold, but we haven’t moved away… yet. Dreaming of a warmer home somewhere south. 🗺️ From the moment we started dating, adventure became *our* thing. ✈️ In the past 14 months, we’ve taken 20 flights and countless road trips together! That’s a lot of adventures in a year. 🥾 We enjoy hiking trails, and the outdoors. We find nature to be very neat and want to see it all. 🌇 City skylines and architecture amaze us, especially as Andrea is a Civil Engineer. ☕ And delicious food. Don’t get us started on the yummies. We can’t help ourselves but try new food everywhere we go. We tell ourselves we likely wont be back so gotta try it while we can! 💰 We’ve become pros at finding travel deals, using points and miles to save big … because we need to fund our coffee and food obsessions. 📅 Andrea is the planner who makes it all happen, while Josh is the chill one that prefers to go with the flow. 💜 Together, we create balanced itineraries and unforgettable memories. Don’t worry, we were surprised too 🤴🏻 I’m not joking when I say none of us girls had any clue the guys were filming this. They were sneaking around the castle for two days stealing props, filming behind doors we were on the other side of, and trying to ask for details on our transitions without seeming suspicious. The final result was revealed with a “hey, I made my own edit” from Ty after she was inevitably brought in on the shenanigans. The rest of us all fell over laughing and we hope this gives you as much of a laugh as it gave us. 🤣 and maybe a little inspiration for your next trip with friends! Why we NEVER choose flights with short layovers! 👇 📲 Make sure to share this with someone so they don’t make these mistakes! The reasons why we avoid layovers less than 2.5 hours in length: ❌ Any first leg flight delays will reduce the layover length. ❌ The time it takes to de-board the first flight can be LONG. ❌ Gate transfer time at the layover airport might be far apart. ❌ Some airports require you to go through security again. ❌ During winter, de-icing the plane takes time. Any of these are possible and typically more than one will happen. By choosing a longer layover you can avoid the stress of running to catch your next flight.
