Itโ€™s been one year since you transitioned into the spiritual realm. I no longer pray to stop grieving. I pray for guidance on balancing the vivid memories with living life in the present. I pray for wisdom on how to make sense of your exit, when we had so much more to do and enjoy and experience. We had more laughs to exchange, more memories to make and more foods to try. From the day I was born, you held me with your love and fed me with your wisdom just like you were holding and feeding me in this picture. Life is not the same without you. Iโ€™m still trying to perfect my meals so they taste like yours. I wear red nail polish more, now, because it reminds me of you. Granny, you know you loved a red nail ๐Ÿ’…. Giving you manicures and pedicures was so fun! โ€œTreat people well.โ€ โ€œBe kind.โ€ โ€œKeep on living.โ€ When challenges arise, I hear your voice clear as day. I had a praise and worship concert last week, in my kitchen, with Helen Baylor. She was your favorite gospel artist. I can feel your spirit when I hear her sing. At that moment, I felt so close to you like you were right there. God is amazing, in that way, forever binding us. Iโ€™m so blessed to have had my very own personal Angel right here on earth. Thank you for everything you taught me and for constantly praying for me. โ€œI had a praying Grandmother!โ€ ๐ŸŽถ You are my example of a marvelous Matriarch, an amazing woman, a delicate flower who could use her thorns when need be, a fresh breeze when necessary but a roaring wind when the time justified it. You taught me so much. If God grants me the opportunity to bless someoneโ€™s life in a fraction of the way you have anointed mine, Iโ€™d be honored. You are 1 of 1. No notes.
