Haul to the Top. On the afternoon of Friday, September 4th, 37 humans assembled to carry 600 bottles of water to the summit of Mt San Antonio (Mt Baldy) in support of Monday’s Run to the Top. This is the 4th consecutive year we have carried water to the top in support of the runners and our group is growing every year. Several repeat faces, several new faces and a whole lot of fun. Thanks to Missy Ellingson and @beerhiker for the assistance in coordinating this event and R&S Litho for the great souvenir mugs. Till next year. #haultothetop #runtothetop #mtbaldy #mtsanantonio taken in Mount Baldy 10,064 Ft by @thegilski

We need your help! You’ve heard of the “Run to the Top”, well this is “Haul to the Top”. Seeking 15 people to help us carry water bottles to the top of Mt Baldy the afternoon of Friday, September 4th in support of the race on Labor Day. This will be the 4th annual event. Last year, pictured, we had 28 people join us. The hike starts and ends at Devils Backbone, significantly reducing the hike. Participants will receive a commemorative mug for their assistance (last pic). Interested parties should DM me for details. Strong hikers only. Participation will be limited. #runtothetop #haultothetop #mountbaldy #mtsanantonio mountsanantonio taken in Mount Baldy Summit by @thegilski

Splurged a bit and finally got some new skins for the 914. The guy at the tire shop had plenty of questions for me when I picked it up. Q: How long have you had it? A: 44 years. Q: How old are those tires I took off? If I looked hard enough I could probably have seen the steel belts. A: Mmmm, about 35 years. Lol. Sound on. Car is much safer now and prepping for its next drive. #driveemlikeyoustoleem #porsche914 #914 by @thegilski

My good friend Stephen rolled into town from Boston. Was a bit nostalgic hiking with him again. Many adventures with that man. Today we hiked to the Bell Hartman mine. So many hidden treasures in the local mountains. #bellhartman by @thegilski

Late sharing. Blew the dust off the 914 on September 13th. The car hasn’t had a drive like that in a looong time. Drove out to Temecula, through the mountains to Idyllwild and out the opposite end. She drove well and I believe was happy I took her out. Need to do more of this. #porsche914 #914socal by @thegilski

Friday 28 of us gathered for the 3rd Annual “Haul to the Top”. In anticipation of tomorrow’s Run to the Top, we assembled once again to carry water to the summit of Baldy for all the runners. Our group is growing and it was a lot of fun. #runtothetop #mtsanantonio #haultothetop taken in Mount Baldy Summit by @thegilski
