You know passion for #Gin is strong when a story about someone buying an alcohol-free RTD (ready to drink) by mistake becomes a major story on news outlets.

While the circumstances may have raised a few eyebrows, the story is also a rather amusing reminder of just how strongly consumers identify with the word gin - and, apparently, how passionate some people remain about getting it right!

We’re proud that the gin industry offers consumers a growing range of high-quality alternatives, including no- and low-alcohol products and ready-to-drink serves.

These are an important part of an increasingly innovative and dynamic category, giving consumers more choice than ever.

If you’re passionate about gin, our advice is simple: Always read the label and make sure you know what you’re buying.

Responsible producers, major retail partners and Gin Guild members recognise this, adhering to clear guidelines around the presentation and labelling of no- and low-alcohol products, developed with Trading Standards and supported by The Gin Guild.

The continued rise of popularity of RTDs – a trend explored in depth by an expert panel at this year’s #Ginposium - shows just how much the category continues to evolve and hold the public’s attention, reinforcing why protecting the integrity and reputation of gin remains such an important responsibility for the industry as a whole. by @theginguild
