MERRY SUFMAS!!!

As one of Cleveland’s top Sufjan Stevens tribute ensembles, We’re All Gonna Die would like to invite you to A Sufjan SteveMAS Sing-a-long Spectacular! At the Beachland Ballroom, Saturday, December 19!

Though the perils of the winters holidays are still a ways away, it won’t be long before the creep of the Christmas spirit overpowers our attention, travel plans, and shopping habits. But we all need a little Christmas, so get your tickets now, and you can rest assured that come the panic of the holidays, you’ll know exactly where your Yuletide pageantry will be.

We’ll have the same band from our 4th of July show, featuring some new friends and faces playing selections from Sufjan’s entire amazing catalogue, with a good dose of his Songs from Christmas collection of course. Beachland’s bar and kitchen will keep you satisfied, so all you need is your good cheers, your ears, and your voices for a couple sing-a-longs.

Buy tickets at Beachland’s website (link in bio), or this coming Monday, over the phone without processing fees for Analog Monday!

The band includes (with more to be announced):
Anya Van Rose @anyavanrose
Benjamin Lee Coates @glowing.ham
Bethany Joy @bethany_joy_official
Bryan Kennard @bryan.kennard.music
Bryson Isaiah Gentry @brysonigentry
Gabriel Miller @gabrielmiller21

Hannah Benjamin @thehungrycello
Jeremy McCabe @j_jacksonmc
Jesse Hodgson @jessehodgsonguitar
Jon Cox @lazerspy

Day #3 of #Guzheng.

The last few weeks didn't allow for much consecutive practice and I felt a little bad about it, but then I remembeed this is entirely personal pursuit with no rules or deadlines and just making space to try something new is worth the effort.
☮️✌️🎶

First time encountering rhythm notation for anything other than quarter notes and it took an absurd amount of time to get it up to the tempo marking, but patience and plectrums made it happen.

Enjoy "Flower Or Not Flower" 🌸

Day 2 of #guzheng & @beibeimusic throws you into the deep end with no fingering symbol cheat codes after first 4 bars, but we hung in there. 🥵

Plectrums made an appearance and everything felt clumsier, but wrist is more relaxed and I'm plucking from the finger joints only.

I still play cello, but it's cold outside and tech week is over (for now.)

Anyhoo, Grab tickets for Shrek @ CVLT, running now thru Dec. 14th---->

Day #1 of wading through @beibeimusic's #guzheng exercises.

Plucking out pretty sounds - it's currently tuned in D pentatonic - is easy enough, but I want to have a solid foundation for the fingering technique so it's easier to noodle around.

Learning to read through the Chinese Simplified Notation is also fascinating and an intense mental workout. Enjoy my weird winter project series. 🌸 by @thehungrycello
