11/21/25 is the day I lost my best friend.

Unfortunately, a few weeks ago I had to let my best friend go. After a hard fight with cancer, it was Kaos’s time. He was only 8 years old, but in the short amount of time he had on this earth, he changed not only my life but my family’s, and touched many other lives around him. I adopted Kaos from the Escondido Humane Society when I was a sophomore in college, and he was truly an angel sent down from heaven specifically for me. I truly believe Kaos saved my life. I was in a pretty rough spot, and this short, little, goofy pit bull with loads of energy was exactly what I needed. Kaos loved me unconditionally and was always there for me. It didn’t matter what we were doing, he was always down to join. He loved people and loved to be involved in whatever was going on. He had no idea what personal space was and always managed to find a way to be right next to you. He wanted to sleep under the covers and sit on your lap whenever he could. Kaos loved people and had an incredible way of reading their emotions and body language. He was gentle with those he knew he should be gentle around, and rowdy and playful with others he knew he could be rougher with. I swear Kaos had more friends than I did. Everyone loved him, and many people knew his name before they even knew mine. Kaos loved going on adventures especially the dog beach, camping trips, hangouts, parties, and the Black Canyon swimming hole. Not an hour has passed in the last few weeks that I don’t think of him. I feel as though I have been robbed losing him so young, but the seven years I spent with him were truly the best years of my life. I was always so grateful to have ended up with the best dog I could have ever asked for. He understood me like no one else and was always there for me. He knew how to make me smile and always made me feel loved. It’s been a struggle since losing him, and the pain is still very strong. I’m trying to take life day by day. I hope I can continue his legacy through the way I live my life. I was so proud of him and so proud to be his owner. I hope to see you again one day my sweet boy. Thank you for everything, I will miss you always. ❤️ by @thejeffbauer

First ever Hare Scramble was an absolute blast. Thanks to the boys @mattia_m14 @grant_morton210 and @danny.mcmaster504 for convincing me to wake up at 4am to go race in the 100 degree heat. Way more fun than I was expecting, definitely hooked! Let’s do it again! #glenhelenraceway #amawestharescrambles #dhordiechatracesmoto by @thejeffbauer
