Speaker Agent Life 🦾🚀🥂

When I first got into the speaking world about 5 years ago, the idea of traveling 60 times a year to speak on stages sounded like a good solution to my ego’s need for external validation.

As the years have gone by however, the mission and vision has expanded and my career as a professional speaker has taken a deliberate back seat to the empowerment of other speakers messages and stories.

People that I love with messages I deeply believe the world and market NEEDS to hear.

Listening to @wilfredburr while stuck at my soulless 9-5 job 5 years ago ignited a vision greater then myself worth pursuing - being on the road with those you love, doing meaningful work, and making money in the process.

Reflecting back on the past few years, we’ve been able to do just that. From sending @aaronjgolub out to his new favorite place in the world, to getting pulled over in the middle of Louisiana with @thestopdrinkingcoach, to putting one of my best friends and cousins @ianm1124 on stage to share his message and story, to hotel rooms in the middle of no where Arkansas with my homie @cosmiccowgirlatx, to road-tripping with my gals @the.business.savage and @daniellegertner, to Vegas and Florida stages with the legend and best friend @logansneed_ and a dozen more in between. The life of being a speaker agent has given me more fulfillment, joy, and impact than any stage I have been on ever has.

To all the speakers we represent @miiprofessionalspeaking I love and believe in your messages more then you know.

To all the clients and audiences we’ve been able to serve - thank you. For making our dreams come true and allowing us to serve. Without you we don’t exist.

And to everyone else who’s been following along these past few years know that we’re just getting fucking started.

2024: Bigger stages, bigger impact, bigger paychecks.

You and I.

5.75 years doing the dance.

When I came to you half a decade ago, I was in search of 3 things: sunshine, a different perspective and people, and a greater version of myself.

You gave me that and so much more.

We arrived. We said hello. We discovered. We enjoyed the solitude. We were lonely. We healed. We leveled up. We grew. We transformed. We learned. We BECAME. We cried. We loved. We invested in ourselves. We took the leap. We succeeded. We failed. We got back up again. We healed the boy…to become a man.

To the coaches and mentors, thank you for seeing in me things I didn’t see within myself. You made me realize that the version of me I was seeking was, and always has been, within me. And that wherever I am in the world — that version of me is and always will be there.

To the softball boys - thanks for the opportunity to earn my spot on the line up and for the reminder that on the field, respect is earned through performance. Gonna miss taking hits away for us, hitting dingers with the boys and the weekly Krieg rips.

To the homies who became brothers — thank you for showing me what true masculinity and brotherhood really is. Can’t wait for visits back, trips together, long phone calls on what’s going on in business and life, and having you next to me in a few years for my wedding day.

I came to you in search of a greater version of myself.

You first accepted me as I was and then helped me discover and become that version of myself.

A happier, more fulfilled, more generous, more satisfied version of myself.

You were everything I was in search of; everything I NEEDED - and more.

A different way of living.

A different way to exist.

A different lens in which to view this beautiful journey we call life.

One filled with smiles, kindness, love, support, shirtless runs…

And sunshine…Every. Single. Fucking. Day.

Understanding Mental Health: A Personal Journey

Recently, I was reminded of the complexities of mental health when I encountered someone who reflected the characteristics of those we often label as struggling. It hit me that we frequently perceive individuals facing mental health challenges as being confined to hospitals, but that’s far from the reality.

Through my own experiences and conversations with my therapist, I’ve come to understand that many people face mental and emotional challenges at some point. We all encounter struggles, pain, and heartache, and there’s no reason to feel ashamed about it.

Acknowledging our difficulties is a vital step toward healing. At MII Professional Speaking, we aim to create a supportive community where we can share our journeys and break the stigma surrounding mental health. Remember, it’s okay to hurt and seek help.

This past weekend I had the unique opportunity of spending my buddy and client @kevin.mcshan8159 ‘s 35th birthday with him.

I met Kevin a little over a year ago. He was the second client @aaronjgolub and I closed together when we partnered to scale @initiateconnections .

Over the past year, Kevin has become more then just a client but also a friend. His daily perseverance, positivity, and work ethic is endlessly inspiring.

I’ve watched as he’s shown up RELENTLESSLY and consistently every single day to spread his powerful message of inclusivity in the workforce (a powerful and needed message in todays market).

Kevin’s scale his speaking business from 0 to $15K and is on track to triple that in this coming year.

Over the past few years, I’ve interacted with thousands of individuals inside of business on sales calls, coaching calls, and general networking calls (networking = not working. Spend minimal time on these time wasting calls).

Some, like Kevin, are what the world and society categorize as “legally disabled.”

What I’ve learned over the years, is that there truly is only one disability and that is of one’s internal will, mindset, and internal fortitude.

If you have breath, you have opportunity. If you have opportunity and don’t take advantage of it, shame on you.

The Kevin’s of the world will ALWAYS fucking win. And it’s been an honor to watch him succeed.

Forever and always buddy - love ya and got your back.

There are no excuses in life.

Just grind.
