I cooked @akis_petretzikis Moussaka, the dish that Giorgia (my Greek Sis) has been telling me to make for years. It’s arguably one of the best meals I’ve ever cooked! It was, as Akis calls it, A SEXY DISH! 😁I also made tzatziki, Greek salad and I even baked my own Cretan rusks for the salad. So good to soak up that delicious olive oil and honey dressing at the bottom of the bowl 🤤 All @akis_petretzikis recipes! Make no mistake, this may look simple but the recipes are intricate, even that tzatziki took me by surprise! Glad I know how to make a legit Greek tzatziki now. Absolutely divine and everyone loved it! Thank you. Even added some Ouzo for fun 🥴 🥂 A perfect evening on my balcony.

You can hear the tour guide freaking out that she’s never seen the lights pulsating. We really had a show. It was unreal. I kept gasping and walking around saying WTF! 🤩🤩#northernlightstromsø #northernlightsnorway taken in Tromsø, Norway by @theladyzeppelin

Me: Work travel is not glamorous
Also me:…

Jokes aside, I cannot believe my luck, the timing in planning this work trip that it would per chance coincide with one of the highest solar activity for sightings of The Northern Lights in the Arctic circle, it feels so unreal to me it’s like it was a divine offering. It was so active we even saw pink which is more rare to see💗

Fun fact: The Sami tribes believed the lights were souls moving to the next realm, so you should not laugh or wave at them or they may stay with you.

What are the Northern lights? Well it’s the sun sending charged particles (electrons and protons) to us and the earths magnetic field pulling them towards our poles. They hit atoms of gases in the atmosphere, mostly oxygen and nitrogen (only because that’s what our atmosphere is mostly made up of) and those atoms get excited and when they relax they release light. And if you don’t think that is cool we cannot be friends…

For sure the most spectacular natural phenomenon I will ever see in my life. Immense gratitude, what an honour to be invited to witness to this.
